DVD : Transformers (2007)

Rating: - if only they could transform it into a decent film
To be honest, my heart sank as soon as I heard who was directing this.

Typical Micheal Bay rubbish - make it LOUD! and FAST! make everyone SHOUT!, maybe that way nobody will notice that this is just one long series of adverts (e-bay, various car manufacturers, etc).

Well, I did notice, and I noticed that abysmal script to, and the ridiculous (barely there) storyline, and the bad acting, and the fact it's arse numbingly long, and that it's virtually impossible to tell which transformer is which in the action scenes (especially on the small screen), and the pityful attempts at comedy (what the hell happened John Turturo?).

I honestly believe the world would be a better place without this film.

Quite simply, one of the worst films of the last decade (if not all time), please don't let them make another one...........Oh, too late

Rating: - 1986...
1986.. that version was much better than this! The transformers are american, the action scenes are american, the whole thing is american! Transfomers were brittish cars in the 1986 version! And the generation 1 series, nothing wrong with americanisum, just doesn't work with transformers!

Rating: - surprisingly enjoyable
All i can say is, this is not the type of film i would usually go for, but i watched it with my boys and i was surprised that i actually liked it, its not fantastic in any way, other than the special effects but its a good action film with a relatively easy to follow storyline and even some funny moments, the only bad thing i would say about it is that its too long.

Rating: - Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
This film will blow your mind. One the action starts, it doesn't stop until the very end. The CGI is some of the best I've seen on film - everything looks so fluid and natural.

The story is somewhat predictable - boy meets girl, both overcome huge evil and fall in love. The script is good, but could have been better.

Overall, a great action film which will leave you gobsmacked.

Great stuff! If you're a fan more I guess, but the other half loved it too and she swore blind she wouldn't.

It's true, the plot's probably a bit thin if you want to critique this on it's own merits but as a fan I thought it was top notch entertainment; great special fx and sound, and mind-blowing action scenes. And, for a big-screen "remake", it holds quite true to the Transformers history, a few modifications here and there, but nothing to spoil it.

The only let-down for me was the human cast getting more attention than either the Auotbots or Decepticons, with Megatron and Starscream (personalities they could have done so much with) barely getting any at all.

Still, it's a movie you can whack on and lose yourself for a few hours to time and time again.

Recommending!
