Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Its not that bad!
It is a real shame that so many of the previous reviewers have had problems with this. We purchased one last summer, mainly for the energy saving benefits. We have not experienced any problems with it and it is certainly used a lot in our house! Although not perfect (it would be great to be able to set the mug size rather than have to press it twice for each mug) it is so much better and quicker than using a kettle each time.
I would also disagree that the water is not hot....unless you have an asbestos lined mouth it is great to be able to drink a hot drink almost as soon as you have made it, instead of having to wait for it to come off of the boiling point.
Hopefully Tefal will continue to develope this and other likeminded products - any appliances that speed things up whilst assisting with energy saving are very gratefully received.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It doesn't work!
I purchased a Quick Cup for my Mum's birthday and she opened it this afternoon. She could not get it to make any hot water, despite getting my stepdad (a time-served mechanical engineer) to set it up again for her. Then, when she pressed the "hot" water button for the second time, it fused out all the electrics in their house. I have brought it back home, and had a go myself. I cannot get any hot water out either, despite following the instructions word for word, and setting it up three times. The filter will not remain in the slot either- the moment water is poured it comes out of the slot and floats about in the jug. I have to agree with the majority of these reviews and say this item is useless.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - TEFAL LUKE WARM DISPENSER
If you like most beverage drinkers prefer your drink hot, or indeed aboove the temperature that your hot tap can get to, this is not the machine for you... mopdelled as the answer to your kettle - this machine is truly not! - LUKE WARM WATER - yes within 3 seconds but tea first and formost requires 100 degrees to brew correctly and coffee 92-93 degrees what a shoddy attempt at changing the way the nation drinks!

Should come with a warning - caution luke warm drinks.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Shoddy realization of a good concept ...
Mine's on its way back for a cash refund after only a week. The water is barely hot enough even if you heat the cup first which detracts from the environmental claims. It splutters, so water sprinkles the table unless you hold the mug right under the stubby nozzle, which is not very convenient. After only 4 shots of heated water, there was a flash which tripped the house fuse box, and the element hasn't worked since ... Interestingly, I have a Dulce Gusto coffee pod machine which seems to heat water using a similar technology and this is 100% reliable and very very hot. So, Tefal, do you actually test your products on real people in real homes? Try it and stop wasting time/money on mis-leading adverts ...

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Absolute rubbish!
As a self confessed gadget freak, when I saw this on TV I just had to have one! I saw the 3 Star rating here but never read any of the reviews and I didn't realise it has been on the market for so long. It is a good idea if it worked! I like the idea of an instant cup of tea in 3 seconds. What I wasn't prepared for was that it would only work for 1 cup of tea and then not again!

I went through the initial cleaning cycle and that worked, then I had my cup of tea and switched the unit off as recommended. Tonight I came in, switched on, the Red indicator flashed, so there was power getting through, but nothing I could do would make it work! One reviewer was correct in saying it was like a hammer drill and it did splutter. Also somehow there was a leak as the jub was bone dry when I came in and my counter top was wet.

I have always liked Tefal Products, but this was like something you got out of a (un) lucky bag. Absolute disappointment, do NOT waste your money!
