Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Goodbye Epson
Having used the Epson R200 and 300 for several years and having to replace the printer at least every year with a new one I decided to defect to Canon.

The difference between the two is like PC and MAC. The epson was continually and consistently confused at every turn. Cancelling a print job threw it into a panic which was only remedied by switching it off and letting it restart. Cleaning the print head required more than 20% ink in each catridge so in order to clean the head I had to get rid of a yellow cartridge which probably had a good few hundred pages left in it. The print head was always shuffling about for no reason and it took forever to print on a DVD. It just got so annoying I had to chuck it out.

The canon in comparison is like a brand new Mac. Does what it says straight out of the box. Never complains. If you cancel a print job it does just that. No waste of paper or ink while it thinks about cancelling. It's quiet, it's REALLY fast and the print quality compared to the epson is FAR superior, on both paper and DVD Discs. It used to take my Epson R200 about 2 minutes to print on a DVD - even with very little detail involved. The canon does it in around 30 seconds and at better quality.

The jury is still out on how long the honeymoon will last - I don't know typically how long canon printers run for, but so far it's been worth the risk.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Locked into using Canon Ink
As a long time Canon User, I was disappointed to find that I no longer have the option of using non-canon ink on the IP 4500 Printer. The printer will only work if you use their premium branded ink priced at over £12.00 each (full set over £60.00) and does not work if you use a generic ink, even if you swap the chips on the cartridges. If you want a great printer then this is undoubtedly a good option, however if you like to use generic ink supplies then you need to look elsewhere

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good quality, decent price
I've been a long time amazon customer. This is another example of a great product that does exactly as its meant to, at a market beating price. Join these factors with free delivery, it still only took about 4 days to arrive and you can't really beat this offer. The printer itself is built to a high standard, it's large, so look at the measurements, having said that it still fits easily on my bookshelf. It **doesn't** come with a usb cable so you'll need one of these. Included in the box are a full set of inks, thats about £30 worth. I've had no problems at all with it, oh and for apple mac users it works fine just as you'd expect.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - PiXma IP4500
I received my Canon Pixma a day early, as per usual good service from Amazon.
Excellent results, especially in photo mode!
Very quiet and easy peasy set up makes this a winner!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Canon Pixma iP 4500 printer with a powermac G5 OSX
I am a freelance designer & have always relied on Epson printers but thought I needed a change as they keep packing up within 18 months of use! My printer arrived yesterday (amidst a drain/dyno rod/bailing out emergency) so I was not in the best state of mind to set up a new printer! However, water stress aside the set up with my mac was very smooth. The visual instructions were pretty good even in my harassed state. There was no problem with the CD - all the software loaded beautifully. (Epson software with a mac can be a nightmare.)
So, today is my first full day of use - so far, the colour matching from the screen is pretty good apart from ochres which have come out bright yellow. However this just needs a bit of tinkering. The basic print quality is really good (which is all I've used so far) which I will probably generally use in my work. It's VERY quick on this setting which is great. I have yet to delve into any clever stuff yet but I would recommend this printer!
