Electronics : Sony NWZA818W 8GB video walkman MP3

Purchased an 8GB Sony Walkman a few weeks ago and it's great. No disrespect to Amazon (which is a great site) but I found it cheaper elsewhere. I had a small Sony MP3 player of only 250 and it was useless on a 14 day holiday! I've only used 4GB and I've over 1000 tracks of all types of music. It's small yet compact, VERY easy to use - thoroughly recommend it.

Please read the other positive reviews for a testament to the sound quality. This is my first MP3 player and, although not quite big enough for my entire music collection, has more than enough memory to last for a two-week holiday, and still have fresh tunes back at the office.
I bought this after trying out in a Sony shop. It was instantly superior to the iPod that I tried previously with a friend, and the drag and drop loading method swung it for me.
I regularly use mine on the road during the 18 hour drive between Germany and UK, and I've never got close to running out of battery.
Alright, you can't get the trendy docking stations, but this is attractive in its own right. This thing is so good that, having tried mine, two colleagues in my office have been out and bought one, although they are jealous of mine, as neither could get a white one.
If I have a negative comment, it's about the ear-piece cable. The cable to the right ear is too stiff. If you've had the thing in your bag or pocket, it won't hang clear of your chin in use, which can be irritating.
Unless you want more than 1600 mp3 tracks in the memory, you will not be disappointed.

Rating: - Finally, the sweet gadget I have been waiting for!
What they say is true; the longer you wait for something, the more you appreciate it when you finally get your grubby little mits on it. After what feels like months I finally got my White Sony NWZA818 Walkman, and boy is it great!

Within half an hour of recieving my Walkman I had all the music I wanted from my PC onto my shiny new toy. It's simply plug & play people (or drag & drop), there's no messing around with any software installations whatsoever, you can just sync your music from WMP to your Walkman! Sure beats iTunes (blergh.), and in my opinion the Walkman itself sure does outstrip the iPod!

With it's 8GB memory you'll most likely never complain about running out of space to put your music, photos or videos again. It's versatility with handling file playback is great too, it can play a range of audio files (which play crystal clear) and not to mention mp4 for your videos (which also play crystal clear on the 2" LCD screen). It took me 10 minutes and the help of my little friend Google to track down a great video converter so I could put my videos straight on to my new friend.

It's amazing for it's size (4cm x 8.5cm & just less than 1 cm thick), who could have thought such a tiny piece of technology could output such great results?

It comes with all the necessities too; earphones, earphone extension, USB cable, stand, audio output jack, spare earbuds etc. One thing I was particularly impressed with was the earphones, they're amazing! They look like no other earphones I've ever seen before, they fit snugly in your ear and they drown out all other sound so you can listen to your music perfectly wherever you are!

Price; amazing. Delivery; amazing. Amazon prevails again! And Sony sure have created a great product to hit back at the currently iPod dominated market, it's a great contender and I'm pretty sure the Walkman range will gain a stronger following sometime soon.

i love this mp3 player, superb sound and everything that the buzz generated was true. I am pleased with this product except for the earphone that comes with it. the quality is superb and the design is sleek, but i found that only the right earphone is long enough to go from one's ear to one's side jeans pocket (where i normally put the mp3 player). the length-difference between the right and left earphone is the same as the length of my computer keyboard, so it's quite substantial. i personally feel that Sony has either tricked me into buying unnecessary set of earphone/earphone extention or into making me look like a fool wearing an mp3 player as a necklace.
