OK, this is a good pop album, and, at least, Duffy doesn't have the annoying habit of "seagull" singing like some of her contemporaries; all that soaring, swooping, diving and squawking. However, to compare her to Dusty or Dionne is nonsense. A softer Mel B, possibly, but she'll never be a "classic" soul/pop singer. Give me a Dusty or Dionne album any day.

What an album. What an artist. Art is what it is, not what you want it to be. I was surprised, though, at the track listings. I saw her in a club some time ago and she said she was debuting some new songs. I am hoping the follow up album includes

Horse in The House
Harry, Chinese Kid
I'll Never Be a Blind Ghost
Square Tins on My Shoulder
Let Them Play Swingball

Great album but wait until those songs come out.

Rating: - Rockferry Rocks The Floor
Well, Duffy, 4 years in the making, and not a moment wasted. The Welsh siren has produced something truely wonderful.
The title track, the debut single and everything else Take Amy Winehouse and flip the style on its head.
There seems to be a rush in the female solo artists depatment at the moment, but in the world of Winehouse releases and re-releases, Copycats and wannabees, its safe to say that if you want something similar/different or something exciting and relaxing at the same time. Duffy suits every mood, every person and is worth the time it took to write.
The slow and soulful, the up beat and danceable all rock the flor and all want to make you dance, be it witha partner, slow and smooth, or rock it out, loud and proud, Duffy is your Gal!
