got one of these for my ps3 and it was so easy to install. my ps3 recognized the hard drive strait away. there is no need to download a system update to a usb stick as noted by another user as ever thing was backed up or saved in the ps3 internal memory. if you want to upgrade you hard drive then try one of these.

Good PS3 upgrade but you must know a couple of things that are not explained on playstations website. (please us the following a guide only)

First back up your data in the back up facility use a FAT or FAT 32 such as USB stick or even ipod. You will need at least the exact same space as a minimum i.e. 15gb on your PS3 you need 15gb or higher device. The device will need a file path [PS3] - [EXPORT] - [BACKUP] save the data in backup folder.

Remove power cables etc and do the hardware bit i.e. replace hard drive its easy refer to manual, Google / youtube

Reconnect all cables once finished DO NOT TURN ON YET go to Playstation website download latest firmware update for your region to a USB device its only a small file so most should cover it - IMPORTANT you must save to file path [PS3] - [UPDATE] otherwise it will not recognise it.

Turn on the PS3 insert USB follow the messages and prompts until it ask for you to power of as it cannot find the hard drive hit start and select then it will read the update from the USB and allow you to format the hdd.

Once this is done you can restore the data via storage device by using the PS3's settings.

Please note available space on hard drive will be 298gb regardless, then the PS3 will use circa 10% straight away with the remainder being the size of the HDD before restore.

e.g

298 GB 10% will be 30 GB = 268 GB - say a 15 GB back up should leave you with around 250 GB

Rating: - Fab product, speedy delivery, what a difference to my MacBook!
I bought this HD after my MacBook decided to 'die' on me. I was very disappointed and did not fancy spending loads of money on sending it away to get repaired as my warranty had already expired. So I took courage and decided to try my hand at some computing DIY.

The product arrived well before the estimated delivery dates and was easy and very quick to install. My laptop is now as new and for a fraction of the price it would have cost had I not done it myself. I find that it is considerably quieter than the old HD and the difference in specs is well worth the money as it is very competitively priced (in fact the best price I found for this exact model).

I have nothing but praise for this product and I'm so pleased that I have ordered some RAM and will be upgrading that too as soon as I receive it!

Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a HD for your Mac!

Got this new 320gig drive to replace my 160gig 'D' drive.
Fitted in no problems. Was just a bit fiddly changing the caddie over,(Toshiba's caddie breaks down into 4 pieces) but all went well. Had to initialize and format it. No problems with vista. Runs quiet, fast and precise. And now I've got 299gig to play with. Excellent service by SHD TECHNOLOGY LTD and Amazon. 5*Thanks all. Took 3 days to arrive, 1/2HR to fit and run. Will be purchasing another one to replace my main drive soon. Very Happy!
