NEW USB TURNTABLE RECORD DECK PLAYER VINYL TO MP3 OR PC
I had the misfortune to purchase one of these machines from new. From the outset, it suffered from a slipping belt drive and would not play any of my 45's that my more sophisticated hi-fi system does perfectly - I only bought it to convert my vinyl to CD as my existing hi-fi system has no USB facility. The variable speed and extremely poor quality of sound made this item most unacceptable purchase.
To return it by Recorded Delivery to distributers costs more than the original p & p and you cannot recover the cost of returning by Recorded Delivery.
I would warn anyone not to waste their time and money on this machine!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - cheap junk
You get what you pay for I guess. Sounds like your mums old gramaphone, only records at a max of 128kbs, the belt slips, no record volume control so loud bits tend to distort, doesnt tag mp3's, only records onto dongle or sd...Burn it!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I'm sending mine back
There is little metal here! Externally this is 95% plastic. The silvery bits that you can see on the photo, I thought they were metal chrome. That's one of the reasons I bought it. But they're plastic painted to look silver.

Externally the only metal you can see are the central turntable spindle, and the pickup arm.

OK, so these things are just cosmetics. But further disappointment came when I played records. The mechanism works very well. The lever for raising/lowering the pickup works smoothly, and the platter starts in response to the arm being moved. But the sound quality is just terrible. The sound is not rounded at all, and base quality is almost completely lacking. Sound quality from the small side speakers (yes, they're plastic) is what you might expect from speakers of that size. But sound quality through usb recording, or directly through headphones, does not improve on this.

I expect Amazon to discontinue selling this turntable real soon.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - not bad but beware the limitations
If you intend for this player to be just used for transferring your record collection to mp3 then this is a very good investment as it works as advertised and is very easy to use for this purpose. Its a pretty solid build quality and looks like it will last well. Certainly if this is your sole reason for buying this item I would probably give it 5 stars.

However I have given it only 3 stars for the following reasons -

No tone control of any kind, not even a handful of presets. This means if want to use it as only a record player the sound you hear is the sound you get. The side mounted speakers also detract from the music spread but I expected that when I purchased it, thinking I could use the tone control to add some oomph. I mean c'mon guys, not even a simple tone knob on audio equipment? poor show.

Also I have had some issues with certain records not playing through to the end, they stop short. This only happens now and again and may improve maybe as the belts wear in. However its annoying to have to re-record an album because of this.

Basically if you are looking for a great turntable only then look somewhere else. For backing up records then definitely consider this unit.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - USB Turntable
Amazingly, this device works as advertised! In effect you can record vinyl straight to an MP3 player. The instructions are frustratingly scanty and short on technical detail and it did take me a little while to find the switch that made it play properly. It may not be suitable for making high quality recordings - for instance, so far as I can tell, you can't adjust the volume on the recording. Each side of vinyl is recorded as a single track. But it's fast and avoids fiddling around with software and hooking up wires to a computer.

The sound quality of the player itself is excellent. It has a metal casing and it's well worth playing MP3s back through it. It's also got good stylus control, so you can limit wear to vinyl if you have to play it more than once.
