Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best 360 racer to date!
I love racing games, and I've played he best the 360 has to offer, PGR 3 & 4, Forza 2, Burnout Paradise etc etc. I downloaded the demo of this expecting an average racing experience, and was very pleasantly surprised to find it's simply awesome!
Even at demo stage, it's plain to see that Codemasters have captured the spirit and excitement of racing more so than ever before. The features that made Dirt so successful are back - great graphics, super slo-mo replays, real-time damage and superb sound, all contributing towards a genuinely exciting racing experience.
People talking about spinning all the time must be using the handbrake instead of the brake, as I find the handling quite sublime, especially as it will no doubt be tweaked again before full release.
The 3 different styles of racing all have their own unique characteristics, and all work equally well.
The demo even offers online play where all the detail, playability and speed are impressively maintained. Everyone on Live was commenting on how good it looks, when they had chance to pause for breath inbetween the most hectic and spectacular online races I've ever seen.
My copy of PGR4 has already been traded for a credit note towards GRID. This game will rock. That's all you need to know.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wheel good
I played the demo of Grid at the weekend. For the weekend. This review is based on me playing the game with the official 360 wheel. I have played all the driving games thus far for the 360. Ironically, the Need for Speed most wanted was the best ... until now... having driven a rear wheel drive car this game is more than familiar. At the start, the learning curve is a bit steep as was NFS Most Wanted. Getting the car to do what you want it to do takes about an hour.

I play the game in manual mode , using the paddle shifters. The car behaves as it should. The Nissan drift car is mayhem, but then it would be in real life. The wheel is amazing, no joke. It is as good as the arcade driving games, if not better. The game allows you to calibrate the wheel, so it should suit everybody.

The wheel is essential for this game. Would you buy Rock Star without the guitar? No point. If you liked NFS Most Wanted, but wanted a tad more reality, this is the game for you. Next purchase , a proper gaming chair. BTW Dirt was just that.. DIRT. This game is much better.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - the biggist load of s?:t ever
This game is so bad you can't control the cars ive played the demo for a bit now and thank god i didn't buy it wait for a better driving game to comes out

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - sim or arcade?
This is based entirely on the demo, so as such things might change before final release.

I just had a go on the demo, and I was impressed. it has the speed and exitement i personally felt forza lacked.

The handling, as someone has said before, is harsh. It doesnt take much to send you spinning out, but it really is something that adds to the game more than something that is going to make you smash your controller.

The AI racers seem to just follow a racing line, which is pretty much the story in every racing game. (Doesnt make it any less annoying when the computer comes crashing into your rear end while you are taking a corner)

Overall, seems like a solid game, not sure if I would be willing to pay the 40 quid on release though.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Another Driving Game ....
Ok so it looks cool , and after a couple of hours playing the demo I got used to the handling , but its just another driving game .. having played Mario Kart Wii with average graphics and silly cars Grid just doesnt bring a smile to my face. I played a couple of online games and if super driver starts to break away its bye bye bye and you're just left playing a hopeless game of catch up , where's a red shell when you need one? Ok I cannot fault its graphics and the handling is Ok when you get used to it so its an OK game , but PGR4 has bikes and fast cars.. I'm sure the full game will be fantastic to look at but I'm not buying into just an OK game.
