DVD : The Water Horse - Legend Of The Deep [2007]

Rating: - A good "fabulous" film
The "true" story of Nessie, the Loch Ness' monster, in a mix of comedy and tragedy. The "pet" of a war orphan in some days growth to the size of most popular "monster" of our's times. The story of friendship between the child ad the "beast" on the background of WWII, with good special effects, some good action scenes and a good ending (with a "promise" for a sequel ??). A movie only for kids and parents ? Not in my opinion.

Rating: - Delightful family viewing
A lovely, enchanting story. Little Angus MacMorrow is spending an afternoon collecting seashells on the edge of the loch when he finds a strange egg shaped rock which he takes home in his bucket along with his shells. In his fathers workshop the rock hatches into a little water horse, a rare Celtic mythical creature of which there can only be one in the world at any one time.

Set during World War II, Angus lives with his sister and mother who is housekeeper at a grand house that has been taken over by the Artillary who have set up post along the loch guarding against enemy submarines. The scenery is breathtaking and the story has something for everyone. There's laughs, tears, goodies and baddies - something for all the family.

The perfect DVD for a cold, wet, winters afternoon!

i was so happy to see this film. It was a poignant and breathtaking tale of a mythical creature - the water horse ' Caruso' and his secret friendship with Angus, the boy who discovered Caruso and brought him up from an egg. This lovely tale is set during the second world war and is even more emotional because of the sideline events which are also happening. A guaranteed heart churner, this is a lovely film for everyone.

Rating: - An absolutely beautiful film - Highly reccomended
This is such a wonderful and moving film. It brought a tear to my eye. I actually had never heard of it before but upon reading the storyline and looking at reviews I thought that it sounded like a film that I would enjoy. I am amazed that this film is not more widely known about.

Great family viewing and a thoroughly enjoyable film even if you haven't got any kids (like me!)

Truely magical.

I can't reccomend it highly enough.

Rating: - Wonderful Entertainment
A very good movie, its about The Water Horse (The Loch Ness Monster ?) who grows from been very tiny to a huge animal in a very short space of time. Beautifully shot with excellent locations and settings, gives the impression of Scotland during World War II.
Very good looking creature, looks very life like.
Very entertaining for all the family which the kids will love.
