Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Entertaining, but very shallow.
Jumper is a film that works because of its simplicity rather try and weave together numerous sub-plots that end up going no-where. It feels very much like a pilot for a TV show that you actually want to keep watching to see what happens next. Admittedly the story is paper thin but it moves at such a pace it's difficult to care. The chemistry is good between Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson and feels natural.

The real star however, is Jamie Bell. He is very charismatic and he brings the film to life every time he is on screen. His accent is very strange though, and seems to be constantly changing. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but it doesn't really matter. Some of the action scenes are breathtaking and the "jump" looks fantastic every time you see it.

Overall this is a mindless action film that feels like the start of something much bigger. There is no doubt that a sequel could flesh out the characters and provide a genuinely interesting film. If you prefer films with numerous plot strands then steer clear as this will bore you to tears. If however you want to see a popcorn film, then this is a must see.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - POSSIBLY THE WORSE FILM I'VE EVER SEEN AT THE CINEMAS
I went into the cinemas with high hopes due to me being a big fan of Samuel L Jackon, but i ended up leaving with strong dissapointment and also with empty pockets. The storyline was very poorand the storyline was unplausable. The only thing I enjoyed about this film was the cheesy one liners, that was the ONLY thing that was remotely entertaining. So overall a bad film, save your money or buy Star Wars and do it right.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!
Ok, before you judge me, hear me out. Jumper is a terrific film and as the first film in a trilogy it has exceeded my expectations by far. Christensen sticks to the Sci-Fi and pulls it off wonderfully, with Samuel L Jackson performing wonderfully as the villain and making the film one of 2008's must have!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Wow
I can honestly say that the only thing this film really has in its favour is its brevity. If it was any longer, I would have walked out of the cinema. But I hadn't finished my Sprite until 80 minutes in, so this film isn't quite up there with "Wolf" in my hall of shame.

Samuel L Jackson's character has no back-story, so we just need to accept that he's got a reason for doing what he does. Christensen's unsympathetic sulk through the whole sorry episode doesn't endear him to the screen or his character to the audience. Imagine Anakin without the light-sabre. It's that bad.

Because the cast found no way of connecting with the audience, I found that I couldn't care less about who won the "epic" finale battle.

Unless there are millions of extras on the disc (including a re-written screenplay and a substitute leading man who can actually act), it's probably not worth buying this DVD unless you want to waste time and money.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - not bad but stick to star wars
i went too the cinema to see this film and i must admit i really enjoyed it. there is everything you need in it a bit of humour, love scene, action, adventure everything that makes a good film. though i only wish they had cast someone else as the lead character other than hayden because i too feel he is not a great actor and shouldnt of been in star wars, and considering he is acting alongside one of the films greatest actor samual l jackson i think they should of got someone with a bit more experiance like christian bale?? to play the part.
all in all id give this a 4 outta 5 as it is a good film dispite my opinion to hayden definetly go see it.
