Electronics : Panasonic DMCTZ5 Digital Camera - Black (9.1MP, 10x Optical Zoom) 3.0" LCD

Rating: - Great multi purpose camera
This camera is brilliant because:
1. The zoom is amazing for such a small camera, and the wide angle is good too.
2. The picture quality, distortion and flash are all excellent (flash range is quite short but fine. The pictures have a truer colour than my old FX 9.
3. The video is excellent, HD, and the sound is perfectly okay for filming the kids and you can zoom whilst filming (nearly all digital cameras do not allow use of zoom or it is fixed whilst filming).
4. It feels pretty well built, especially given the features at the price. Some of the little doors are plastic, but sturdy.
5. It is not tiny or light, but it is only slightly bigger than the FX9. It will fit into a jeans trouser pocket at a push.
6. The shutter delay is very good compared to a 2 year old camera.
It's so good my mother in law took one look and bought one too.
I got an 8 GB card with it and it holds over 1700 pictures!
I would defintely recommend a case as the lens cover and big screen will take a hammering if it is just thrown into a bag.
Downsides probably are the weight and bewidering array of menu options, although on intelligent-auto you can just point and shoot and the pictures look great.
Amazon delivered it on standard delivery in record time.

Rating: - robust, easy to use and not too heavy
Iv'e had this camera for 6 month and very happy. I was originally attracted by the excellent lens plus light weight. Plus reviews in general were good. Everything so far has turned out well. It has even been dropped once or twice with no ill effects. Low light indoor conditions could be much better. However is always easy to turn a light on. Rating: - TZ5 small but big on the inside
I wont bore you with all the bits,i bought this as an upgrade i had a Sony H5 great camera but a bit lumpy to take out on nights out the wifes bag had no room,hence i got the panasonic TZ5
what a great camera, small with a 10x zoom.panasonics Ai works great.
i took pictures in all conditions and was very happy
its not the smallest camera but for the size its crazy what you get

Rating: - Awful sound quality!
Whilst this camera takes decent but not outstanding pics, beware of the sound quality if you're thinking of buying it to take video clips at gigs.

Believe me, the poor quality of the sound will make your clips unuseable.

If you can get the thing to focus in the low light setting of a gig, you'll get a decent picture, but that's it.

If you can't get it to focus, you're left with a blur!(and yes, I have tried it with continuous auto focus on and off, and I've updated the firmware.

So,it's ok if you just want a point and shoot for every day snapping, but otherwise forget it!

Rating: - Easy to use, excellent results
This was a present from my husband, and my first "serious" digital camera - and I love it!

Menu is very easy to use, very good results in the iA mode, but I also like playing about with the Scenes - using them more than I first thought I would to excellent effect.
