Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - NO!
What a aweful way to listen to radiohead! The albums are each intense and individual in their perfection and individuality. Go buy the albums, avoid this sell out rubbish at all costs.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pop, pop, pop music
It's a travesty that this collection doesn't have a straight 5 star rating. Every single track has something going for it, and as a compilation it is simply mesmerising. Perhaps it's easy for me to say that; I'm not a big fan of Radiohead so I have no axes to grind.

Most of the grumbling in other reviews here is not new. Diehard Bob Dylan fans, for instance, will still tell you that His Royal Bobness CANNOT be collected in a 'Best of ...' Each album is different, unique, indivisible and so on. And, of course, if you are going to listen to Like A Rolling Stone, there is a lot to be said for hearing it in the context of the album it comes from (the blistering High 61 Revisited). Nevertheless it's a great piece of music and stands up on its own, come what may. So where's the harm?

The stuff here definitely stands up for itself. When my son brought this home and played it I was astonished, and I don't use that word lightly. He made me a copy and the rest is history. Maybe I'm too old to fully understand the purists' nitpicking and agonizing.

Anyway, I urge you to give this collection a try, whether or not you are a fan . Be sure to get the two disc version. Almost restores an old man's faith in pop music! And despite the impression you might get from reading some of the other reviews, that is what you have on these 2 discs - brilliant, melodic, catchy and intriguing pop music.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dont buy this !!!!!
Having read previous reviews of this album, i was aware that the band did not want it released, i eventualy decided to buy The Bends, OK Computer and In Rainbows instead of the Best Of Collection, and i completely understand now why this band cannot be summarised in a "best of" collection. The albums are BRILLIANT. One of the best bands of modern times. PLEASE DONT BUY A BEST OF. IT NEGATES THE GREAT MUSIC OF ALL OF THEIR PREVIOUS ALBUMS, WHICH DESERVES LISTENING. DONT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A better bet than the single disc version, but still far from perfect
Enough has been said about this compilation not being representative of what the band are about, but for an objective test I compared the track listing with what they performed live when I saw them at Victoria Park earlier this week. They played just five songs from the first disc and another four from the second out of a total of twenty five performed. Were it not for the second disc that would be a terrible hit rate for a supposed "Best Of" album; even with it that's barely over a third of their live set covered. There are no two ways about it; this is a fundamentally backward-looking compilation.

That said, the songs are still great and stand on their own merits even outside their original album contexts. If you want a Radiohead sampler, this is about as good as it gets at the moment, despite the flaws.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - We are taking Advantage of people all over the world, LIVE WITH IT, and the band DOES get money from this, so wat's ur problem?
I can highly recommend this album to anyone slightly interested in Radiohead. IT is AMASING! I am obviously new to Radiohead, but you cannot condem an Album just because it is taking advantage of a band. We are taking advantage of people all over the world right now, so if you care so much go protest about that then rather than writing a terrible review of this cd. These low scores could put people off, who don't want to hav to buy all the albums, but wants a collection of essential tracks to listern to, but I have to say that buying the 2 disc edition, because it gives you some of their later songs, which are very good. One point about the other reviews, if the over songs on the other Cd's are so good and they are so cheap, surly after buying this Cd, as I do, you would then go out and buy the other other albums. I have one point aimed at music magasins reviewing this Cd, I am shocked to discover that out of the ones I have read, NME, who can give really harsh reviews for stupid reasons, gave it the only fair score of 8/10. When the others gave it around 4/10, for all the same reasons alot of the people on this site are, and to be quite truthfull, you are all stuck up your own ass.
I recommend this to anyone who is interested in Radiohead and wants to give it ago, buy this and you won't be dissapointed. Then if you like this, you can pick up the other CD's cheaply.
