I purchased this book for a recent trip to Alicante city where I planned to wander through the old town, eat where the locals ate and just enjoy some time in the sun. Unfortunately the book was geared more toward people who were planning to actually move to the region. The writing style in the book leaned toward the very informal - it felt like I was reading a lightweight blog! If you're planning to move to the area, there might be some useful information here but you're just as likely to find that info with a cursory internet search.

If you like a big map to see a whole city in one go, this map is as good as any.Clear and readable.

I am not a great fan of spiral-bound books, but for a travel guide,this format works well (lies nice and flat on outdoor bar tables!). True pocket size.Sufficient detail for a "starter" book, it did the job for a first visit to the region and proved useful.

The style and layout of this book are great, however, it claims to cover the Murcia (Costa Calida) region and yes it does have a few pages (more than the Rough Guide or Lonely Planet!) but justice isn't done for the Murcia region. For a comprehensive guide to the Murcia and Costa Cálida region, try "A Brit's Scrapbook: Going Native In Murcia "

This book is excellent. We used it for a weekend, found a great hotel, loads to do during the day with a great range of restauraunts and bars for the evenings. The best bit is the map on the inside cover, where all the recommended places are marked - so you don't spend ages working out where everything is!
