I really enjoy this book. As I have been going to Malaga region for 25 years, I wanted a new view on the place and this book gives good hints on what to do or see. It also brought back in mind some nice places I'd forgotten.

I also bought this book because it seemed to have best introduction to Granada and Alhambra castle. Haven't been to Granada yet but I'm looking forward to using this book as my guide.

This book is very nicely written and easy to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Andalucia.

Despite an unusually high number of flaws, this is nevertheless a book that will help you get the most out of your time in Andalucia.

Perhaps I just expect too much of Lonely Planet (LP), but it's their own fault. They've stood by me so many times in so many different places in the past that I was beginning to take everything they told me as The Only Advice In Town. So when I arrived in Seville I quickly got into the LP groove and hit La Bella Estrella, a "jazz bar".

Well, perhaps I'd arrived the day they buried the proprietor, but there was no jazz going on there, so off I went to Naima Café Jazz, happily only about five doors away down Calle Trajan. A bit better, but still not the place I expected based on ... Read More:

An excellent map. True it is large but with thoughtful planning, a trip can be made much more enjoyable by using it, first for planning and then for finding places to see and actually getting to them. That tiny Ermita, it's in the guide book but where? What town is it listed under? With the map you can find where you are going, accompany it with the Green guide book and you can find out all about it. Just wish the map was a larger scale to find the little roads that led to that lovely hotel we stayed at in the middle of nowhere.

Our original copy is now worn out and we are buying another one!

Excellent guide book that no visitor should be without. Our previous copy got soaked through and all the pages stuck together but we rescued it and continued to use it until we lost it. Have now ordered another.

If you are really interested in Andalucia, not just to lie on the beaches or take photos of the Alhambra then this book is an absolute must. In the great tradition of travel writing, it is so much more than just a guide book. Jacobs writes with real clarity and passion. If you are planning a trip to Andalucia the investment of a few pounds in this book, will definitely be worth it. If you are not planning a trip, but have an interest in the land of Carmen,Flamenco, bullfighting etc.then it is a must! First class book.

Poorly researched. Includes one restaurant recommendation which suggests a 'local speciality' which the restaurant in question had never served (or even heard of). Contacted DK for a comment on this and, in keeping, with the author's view of the reader they didn't bother to answer. Defintiely not recommended.
