'My Life in France' is a superb book that effuses with that wonderful endearing quality we have all come to know and love in Julia Child. The book focuses mainly on the early years of developing her first cookbooks and television show.

The book begins when she and her husband, Paul, make their first trip to France because of his new job assignment. You feel her giddy excitement upon landing on the shores of a place she had for so long desired to go. Books : Money for Life: Everyone's Guide to Financial Freedom
Split into 10 chapters, Alvin takes us through the main areas of good financial management. It's a 230 page paperback and gives just the right level of depth. There were some sections that I skimmed over (investing) where others I read very carefully and found many useful tips (savings). It really depends upon your circumstances which sections are most relevant to you.

With Alvin being American, he tells many stories about his life over there. However, the book is written with the British person in mind and all the advice relates to British finances. Alvin's stories are often quite personal and enhance what could be quite a dull subject to deal with. He's a fun guy and it comes over in this book.

Overall this is a great ... Read More:
