I approached my bank for for additional finance for my business. Surprise surprise they asked for a BUSINESS PLAN. Having avoided this chore so far, I had to scour the Amazon pages for help. I identified with the Dummies title and was not disapointed with the book I bought, this one. It took me into a whole lot of places I'd never been before and few I had touched on briefly. Two weeks of hard work and some well thumbed chapters and I had a business plan. A week later I had my loan from the bank. Now thats what I call a great return on investment...a ration of around 10,000 to 1.

If like me you have plucked lots of books purporting to be able to clear up the mysteries of finance and been dissapointed then this book will be a breath of fresh air. I don't prentend that having read this I understand everything about accounting, but at least there is more than a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Balance sheets have always eluded me as have ratios. Not any more. A really useful book that makes me feel comfortable with my accountant.
