I have just started my online business with this book at my side, it tells you about copyright laws, international laws and lots of other legal stuff that is required in setting up as a LTD, Partnership, Sole Trader or a LLP. The book tells you how to write a business plan, how to get sponsorships from the Princes Trust and banks etc, it tells you what you should do in terms of laying people off if that should ever happen, How to draw up terms of sale, disclaimers, how to employ staff, how to choose your products, search for competition, price your products accordingly, too high or too low is bad for your business. This volume starts off on a pretty low-key note after the wall-to-wall brilliance of book 4's stories. Dredd investigating the Mega-rackets is inoffensive, entertaining stuff but not really anything special. It's when Judge Death makes his long-awaited comeback that the magic starts to happen. This five-parter, lushly illustrated by Brian Bolland, represent some of the finest pages ever seen in sequential comics - and contains the single most iconic panel in the history of the Dredd strip. This book covers a lot of the theory for anaesthesia, particularly part 1 exam content. It is reasonably laid out although more wordy than A to Z (which is a reference book anyway really) so is good for reading when you first start learning the theory. The content is not enough for the exam on it's own but I found the style easier for reading than other books. Another advantage is that it is paired with the QBase 6 MCQ book which I found was closest in style to part 1 when I did it (Oct 2005).

It's a great shame Merleau-Ponty didn't write more simply and concisely. This is a major work of philosophy, with important original ideas within it. But it's difficult to sort the message out from the book. I don't think this is a translation problem- a French friend of mine says the original French is still difficult. I recommend the book, but warn readers it's not an easy read. However if you are a phenomenologist at some stage you'll have to tackle it.

I bought this book for some sing along fun with my young family. I'm not remotely religious, but there are some "classics" here that I enjoyed singing at school in the 1980's and I was surprised by how many I still knew well. There are two complete edtions on offer, so I went for this the cheaper version, as I couldn't see any reason not to. When it arrived I realised it was cheaper because it is the WORDS ONLY edition - a fact which you can't quite make out from the picture (or at least I couldn't). Anyway, I now have the other edition too which has the WORDS AND MUSIC which helps if you want to play along as I did. Hope that helps.

Like their last joint effort - on Orde Wingate - Smith and Bierman have taken a challenging subject and treated it with their original blend of professionalism, humour and huge respect for their subjects (or most of them, at any rate). In addition, those elements of the book which have never been discussed before are fascinating, and must add to the book's importance. By borrowing the subtitle War Without Hate they might have slipped into a misleading account of a soft-focus, rather comfortable sort of conflict. They make their point but leave you in no doubt just what a campaign like this means in terms of human loss.
