I almost set it down after 200 pages. But I decided NO... it will get better. It didnt, just rumbled on at the same old speed. Davina McCall describes Danny Wallace to be a genius- O dear, please.
NOT FUNNY!

Its very easy to say yes to everything when your backed up by an over inflated BBC salary, not funny, a couple of amusing situations, on the dance floor and waiting for the ferry in singapore. If id noticed that Davina Macall had said this man was a genius on the front cover I wouldn`t have purchased it(as she normally presents shows for those of an IQ lower than one). Its a poor read about an overpaid self pitying individual.

As much as I didnt like this book the underlying theme is really interesting and the Maitraya idea is genuinely thought inducing.

Wait for it to turn up at a car boot sale, dont buy it.

I was really excited to get this book having read the reviews. However, although I found the concept amusing and genuinely laughed out loud at some observations, usually the relationship ones, Danny is not a good writer. The prose is overly wordy for my liking and simply not tight enough to the extent that I have added this book to my very small " will never finish" pile of books. I have no doubt that an evening down the pub with Danny would be very funny indeed, he loves people and shows genuine affection for them in this book which is endearing. However, if he does any more projects, I might just wait for the tv show to come out.....

I wouldn't really call it a book as a book is the "main course" in my opinion its a "Starter". He gives serveral examples on how to be nice. Which is good, but most are very difficult to actually complete. I would recommened trying to come up with your own way of being lovely rather than wasting £5.

No, really, don't!
I read it yesterday during my breaks on a course I was on, but, unfortunately, did not realize for some time that the other people in the room, all strangers, were giving me some very odd looks and edging away because, totally engrossed and loving another Leader Classic I was laughing out loud, often, and loudly. Oh dear.
However, those warnings in mind, I would absolutely recommend this one. It's very short but very, very funny. Trust me. It is.

they were probably posted by the authors' friends. There is no other explanation for those positive ratings. This is the first book in years I've stopped reading after forcing myself through the first one hundred pages. Boring, boring, boring. Two guys overstretch a very weak story to make a book and they do so by narrating it in such a ghastly way that you start hating yourself for having fallen for the reviewers' hype. I had my doubts but I decided to believe the "readers" ratings. Believe me, there is no way in hell so many people can honestly have found this book to be funny, interesting or in any way readable. Based on this book I wish to never ever meet anyone called Dave Gorman. Ah yes, it took two to fabricate it! Gawd... What I do mind is how rudely ... Read More:
