Yeah this is awesome. It can't be easy to make an instruction manual for an operating system interesting, but the author does it somehow. And the detail is great. I've been able to tell experienced MAC OS users a thing or two from having read this book. Recommended.

I bought this with my computer (sorry Amazon). Anyway; I've bought a few PC technical books in the past and found them tough going, I actually found myself enjoying reading this book; I will look out for other titles written by David Pogue. As a side note it was a good job I did buy this book as you get no manual to speak of with a new i-mac

Having just upgraded to Leopard and iphoto 08, I thought I would look to improve my skills. This book IS the one that should have been in the box. The 1st part covers everything you need to know about buying and operating a digital camera. I found out about features of my Olympus camera that I didn't know existed. The book explains the basics and the more complicated features in a simple easily understood way. The 2nd and 3rd sections cover the iphoto software itself and I am working my way through the chapters learning more and more. How I wished I'd discovered this book months ago. I would recommend this series of books to everybody ( I have also purchased the Mac OS X Leopard version)

Having previously bought "Windows XP Home Edition" by the same author/publisher I have found this to be equally useful. Shame Mr Bill Gates doesn't spend some of his profits providing the same information with his products ! I highly recommend this book.

Published in 1997, with a few updates since which include a new cover photo and a website launch (dummies.com) this 358 page book follows the many other titles in the `For Dummies' range in that it makes learning an entertaining experience. Classical music can be a turn off for many, with confusing terms, strange descriptions and an often reluctance to make itself accessible to the casual visitor to its world, so a book like this is a welcome one to break down those barriers which prevent an understanding of it. The underlying tactic of authors David Pogue and Scott Speck is to lighten up the subject with funny quips and interesting facts which continually embellish the factual information.
