This is a good attempt at trying to summarise everything (even literally down to the stereotypes!) which can easily go wrong if you include dates and details. As with most things ME, moving goalposts is the name of the game and impulsive decisions are the name of the game. I think the authors are fair and also knowledgeable about the region but as a Muslim I think I would like to see more books written from a Saudi/Islamic context as that gives the reader a more accurate perception. I'd say if you really want to know about Saudi, ask someone who's lived there for over 10 years. PS: this rating is simply based on my reading of material directed at Saudi (I skipped the other Gulf bits!).

Books : Living and Working in Spain (Survival Handbooks)
This book it tempting for the uninitiated and I admit I bought it - however I have found it to be very inaccurate and it makes most things seem very much more complicated than they are. For example I have obtained a Residencia, imported my car and obtained a Spanish driving licence in Murcia where many of the documents said to be required by Hampshire were NOT required. I did not use a Gestor but I do speak some Spanish.
Save your money and go direct to the Spanish departments and offices involved and ask - they will do all they can to help you. Do not let this book put you off doing-it-yourself.
The book is poorly designed and laid out because Hampshire tries to cover too many eventualities...

If you are a middle-aged British eurosceptic who for some reason wants to buy a property in Italy, and have all your prejudices against the place confirmed at the same time, this is the book for you.

In passing it does manage to contain useful information and if the author permitted it to be professional edited, got someone to check his facts, the errors vary between generalisations and total inaccuracies, it could be quite a good book.

You can feel a bit lost when you are trying to buy property abroad. This book has helped me. It is concise, you don't have to read through a lot to get the information you need. It addresses the key issues you are faced with in a practical, straightforward manner. I am happy to recommend it.

This is a very useful book that gives the reader loads of information at their finger tips. I wouldn't recommend that it is read from front to back but do as we did and pick out certain areas as they interest you. We are on the verge of buying a property in France and we have found this little book invaluable. I won't be selling this one on as the pages are too well thumbed already!!
