Just returned from Cyprus; wonderful place, great hospitality and terrific April weather. The holiday was completely made by our ability to walk using the Landscapes walking guide. This blue book has always had good press, but this is the first time I've used it in Cyprus. We had the latest update, since there is a new edition about to hit the shops, and the update gave us the latest jizz on all the places to visit. Troodos walks are sensational, but the walks in the area north of Paphos are fantastic. We stayed at Kathikas, and the update gave us info on new walks about to appear in the new edition in this area. Wonderful - every farmer we saw wanted to give us fruit from his groves. I found some of the directions were a bit confusing to follow unless I read them extremely carefully, especially when I was simultaneously dealing with the children. We completely missed a critical turn at the beginning of one walk, although we still discovered some lovely coves.

I have only tried a few of the walks in this book. The guide proved to be detailed and accurate, and the book is a useful shape and size for carrying. My only criticism is that most of the walks are in the eastern part of Andalucia. If you're staying further west than Rhonda you won't find much here.
