I don't care to get into the controversy over whether or not this is part of this food movement or whether it sends the right message... all I wanted to know when I read it was whether Delia presented simple, day-to-day recipes that I could use when I was in a hurry and wanted something nice for the family.

Totally disappointed. Why? -- very simple: I do not need to spend money on a book to tell me to read the back of the packet of pre-packaged foods in the supermarket.

I don't have anything against the occassional use of a ready meal or a frozen ingredient, but why would I want to spend money for a batch of recipes that basically tell me nothing more than the information on the packaging tells me: open, pour, stir ... Read More:

I have just started my online business with this book at my side, it tells you about copyright laws, international laws and lots of other legal stuff that is required in setting up as a LTD, Partnership, Sole Trader or a LLP.

The book tells you how to write a business plan, how to get sponsorships from the Princes Trust and banks etc, it tells you what you should do in terms of laying people off if that should ever happen,

How to draw up terms of sale, disclaimers, how to employ staff, how to choose your products, search for competition, price your products accordingly, too high or too low is bad for your business.

The book also tells you how to advertise, forge links and register for PayE in the UK, ... Read More:

Concentrating on Flora Thompsons time as a post office assistant in Grayshott, Hampshire. Heatherley continues in the same beautifully written vein as the more well known Lark Rise to Candleford stories. I finished this book in a day or so and found I just couldn't put it down. Like Lark Rise, this is more of a personal memoir than a story, and it is incredibly heartwarming and moving to realise that the many characters written here were real living, breathing people with very different stories and experiences that Thompson writes with real humanity and feeling.
I live just a few miles from where this is set, but you need not have seen or walked the heath or streets for a picture of the landscape and village, as the writing is so poignantly ... Read More:

This volume starts off on a pretty low-key note after the wall-to-wall brilliance of book 4's stories. Dredd investigating the Mega-rackets is inoffensive, entertaining stuff but not really anything special. It's when Judge Death makes his long-awaited comeback that the magic starts to happen. This five-parter, lushly illustrated by Brian Bolland, represent some of the finest pages ever seen in sequential comics - and contains the single most iconic panel in the history of the Dredd strip. You'll know the one when you see it.

And then came Block Mania and the Apocalypse War, an epic to end all epics at 30+ parts. Apocalyptic is the right word. Mega-City One is razed to the ground by atomic fire, half the city's population wiped out by tidal ... Read More:

A much shorter book of early Dredd adventures than volumes 1 and 2, but no less essential for that.

Having established a lot of the history and set-up of Dredd's world in book 2, building a more solid world around him than the often naive and slapdash environment seen in Book 1, the strip really starts to take off here. It's as though, having realised just what possibilities Dredd's world offered during the course of writing the Cursed Earth and Judge Cal epics, writer John Wagner decides to really start pushing some boundaries and having fun.

After his 'baptism of fire' during book 2's twin epics, Dredd himself emerges here as a character really worth reading - beginning the move away from the frankly childish figure of the strip's ... Read More:

If you've been following the series thus far, you'll know that a lot of Dredd's early stories - even as late as Book 3 - simply weren't very good. Having not read any of these the first time around I'm free of rose-tinted glasses, and can readily admit it. Book 1 was riddled with them, let's face it; Book 2 had one or two sneak into the back; and while Book 3 on the whole managed to avoid them, it's Book 4 that is entirely free of the blighters.

Seriously - I dare you to find a single clunker in this volume - and considering the size of it, it's no mean feat to have avoided any. This book represents a creative team hitting their peak. Finally at ease with both the character of Dredd and the world he inhabits (boy, this strip sure did take a long ... Read More:

The new Ferrata guide is probably the worst guidebook and I have ever tried to use it is extremely hard to follow they have invented their own grading system and it is repetitive. You are better getting the old guide which although it is out of date is much better and easier to follow and the grade can be relied upon.
They state that there are many grading systems in existence but they differ only in minor ways for example using numbers from one to six instead of letters so they are roughly comparable, they have invented a new system and assigned the roots in a seemingly arbitrary fashion I went up one route which my partner looked at would not go near, it were graded two in this book and the Germans told me that in their book it was a three/four l believe ... This book is the perfect accompaniment to the edexcel A-level syllabus as it has been written the leading examiners of the edexcel board. Although some of the information contained within this book is generic to all biology A-level students I would not recommend this book to anyone who is not going to study edexcel as some of the information is very 'board specific'. This book comes with past exam questions and answers to match which I have found other such books to be lacking in. However it would be always useful for the book to have more questions as it seems quite limited.
