This is a basic guide, but it served its purpose. We chose it after reading other reviews... very light on info regarding travelling with small children. But we muddled through. Tip - if you fly from Split airport, stay night in Trogir.. closer than Split to airport and very pretty.

The best guild book for the Baltics States there is. Very up to date and full of excellent tips. Had a very nice time in Tallinn using the guild. Also a good reference book for business travellers who are going to the Baltics for the first time.

The best guild book for the Baltics States there is. Very up to date and full of excellent tips. Had a very nice time in Tallinn using the guild. Also a good reference book for business travellers who are going to the Baltics for the first time.

Poland is a huge country and extremely diverse but this guide helps capture almost all of it. With the English language only really spoken in the main cities it is well worth reading this before you step on the plane and keeping it by your side during your travels. It is fairly up to date but there are new hotels and hostels opening all the time so don't expect the accommodation section to be completely up to date - there are plenty of good places that aren't listed but will probably be included in future editions.

Poland is a huge country and extremely diverse but this guide helps capture almost all of it. With the English language only really spoken in the main cities it is well worth reading this before you step on the plane and keeping it by your side during your travels. Having never used Rough Guide series before, I am now a big fan of them - thanks to this one. I found the visit to Bulgaria (incl. stay at the shore of Black sea, mountains etc)smooth and easy - thanks to all the relevant details from this guidebook. A special treat was the visit to the Devil's Gorge - a relatively unknown, but very impressive place (we actually stayed in a very nice hotel, whose owner had worked together with the authors in preparing that part of the guide). Highly recommended for an independent travel to Bulgaria!

Absolutely crammed with information, history, culture, etc. Invaluable for anyone interested in Croatia, whether for a short holiday or for moving to the area. It had far more information that I personally needed, but there's no harm in that.

An excellent 'rough guide', which follows the high standards set by the rest of the series. Content is well-ordered, and there are plenty of maps to help you find your way around. There is enough detail on political and historical background for those who want it, but it's also easy to skip to the 'must see' sights when you can only spend a fleeting visit or a particular town or region.
