I read somewhere that all telescopes should come with this guide and once you start using it you'll realise why. As I have mostly a south-westerly view of the sky I like to make the most of what I have so I turn to 'Turn Left...' and follow the easy diagrams and text to pick out the best of the constellation I am interested in.
The book gives you diagrams of what you'll see in the viewfinder as well as the telescope and although it can be a bit confusing to the novice when you first start you soon get the hang of star hopping and be delighted when you discover the gems above.

At the Promethean Trust, we've been teaching 'dyslexic' children to read and spell since 1990. They come in all shapes and sizes, and other than their problems learning to read, they fall into perfectly normal distribution curves. Any idea that some of these children were dyslexic, and others merely thick, is preposterous. It is undoubtedly true that some children have a lot of trouble learning to read and spell, and that intelligence has little to do with the problem. It is also true that these problems are in part genetic. However, "The Gift of Dyslexia" is little more than a cruel hoax on parents who are desperate to alleviate the suffering of their child.

In 2002, the British Psychological Society published a report which questioned ... Read More:

I have found this book extremely useful.
It is a little more theoretical than many others of its kind and is certainly not intended as a quick-to-use fact based reference book. Despite being at the theoretical end of the spectrum it is still very easy to read.
What this book really provides is a roadmap or structure to help the reader think about family businesses, the opportunities they provide and the challenges they present. As with all the best roadmaps it gives the reader a great structure to think about the subjects covered, provides an extremely comprehensive bibliography and suggests where to go looking for further help.

Books : Exploring Earth: Introduction to Physical Geology
This is a superb introduction to physical geology (that is, excluding palaeontology, geology, and the detailed study of rocks and minerals - although aspects of some of this is covered). I think it can probably be read by someone who knows nothing about the subject, although it might be a good idea to read something like the excellent "Teach Yourself Geology" first. The Davidson book is well organised, centred on plate tectonics, and the explanations are always first class. What sets it from its competitors however is its beauty. The photographs and illustrations are truly superb - all in rich cover. it isn't quite as advanced as Holmes' "Principles of physical geology", but it's a whole lot better to look at. There is a slight American bias to the locations ... Read More:

This is a high quality and very good account of the theory and principles of JKD.
Lamar Davis is on of the top fighters in the JKD clan and knows what he is talking about.
