Just get it. It'll cost you a penny second hand, and it's well worth it. I mean just look at the fact there are 38 reviews to it's name!

But beware, he's going to talk about God. That's right, a psychotherapist talking about God. He only does so however in the last section and by then you've got enough benefit from it to throw it away with a smile and no resentment, no matter how hardened an atheist you are.

If I was only allowed to read one book in my lifetime this would the book I would choose.
Despite being a few years old now this book still offers a great insight to life and spiritually.
If you are struggling to find meaning or purpose in your life this book is for you.
The author talks about God and Reglion, blame and forgiveness , the meaning of death , sex and spirtually, Christianity and how it should and shouldn't be interrupted and offers an insight in to other cults and religious organizations teachings & believe system.
The author's writing style is clear and consite and doesn't get blogged down by jargan.
Towards the end of this book i started to slow down my reading i did'nt want it to end.

We desperately need a psychology of evil. This book is a valuable begginning.

I agree with the late Dr. Peck's definition of evil as the use of power to destroy the spiritual growth of another. This use of power is an aspect of narcissism, which is synonymous with megalomania.

Evil is clearly widespread in our world. Our political leaders evidently feel that it is acceptable to start wars and our psychiatrists routinely force thier patients to take drugs with unnaceptable side-effects. Peck's pioneering work will hopefully be followed by others who can give us a psychology of war and other manifestations of the desire for power over others.

For those of us who believe in God, evil is the greatest obstcle to seeing ... Read More:

I have read most of Scott peck's stuff and find it all relevant and sometimes very irritating. This is of a different order to all the rest and I heartily recommend it. The book describes the stages of building community and is way beyond the other analyses (I have a fair bit of facilitation experience). I have taken part in two workshops inspired by his work and to a significant extent use his insights on an ongoing basis in both my private and professional lives. If you are interested in knowing how to help with the world in the state that it is in, read this book. It is worth the price for the introductory story alone.

I have just started my journey of self discovery and read a number of interesting and thought provoking books. I heard about this book and thought it might enlighten me. I was wrong - it did not. There were only one or two points worth saying or reading. The last part, which concentrated on God and 'her part in your life' was a fanciful and irrelevant self-indulgent piece of nonsense. I'm only sorry that 1 star is the lowest mark I can give!

I first read M. Scott Peck's 'The Road Less Travelled' over 20 years ago, but it is a text to which I return again and again, as Peck's insights and observations remain a constant source of inspiration and guidance in my life. It still finds a ready home in the hands of therapists, counselors, ministers, teachers, career planners, and others as part of their resources, and is not out of place in the home of anyone who cares about the directions of her or his life.

Peck was a clinical psychiatrist - the material for this book came largely from his experiences with clients and others, seeing what worked and what didn't, what was missing and what was mis-understood. Often cases involved psychotherapy (talk therapy), but the processes here are not confined to ... Read More:
