This book is fantastic, it gives a clear, cut and consise overview of the German History period from 1919 - 1945.
It supports AQA, OCR and Edexcel Exam boards AS/A Level and gives the necessary jump from GCSE to AS to A Level.

The Book Covers -
Weimar Germany 1919-29
The Rise of the Nazi Party
Nazi Germany 1933-1945
Weimar and Nazi Germany

This book is what text books aimed at there intended audience should be like, once again Hinemann have got it right again.

It even provides some further reading for GCSE students, but GCSE students should primarly stick to there exam board accredited exam books, only to use this for further reading.

I've been tutoring History for CE for a few years now and it's a relief to finally have a book available that's specifically for the CE syllabus instead of making do with general KS3 books. Fantastic layout, good practice questions at the back, really helpful. Leaves out a couple of topics which can be annoying if they're the ones your student is studying, but still, well worth the money.

I am currently studying (and struggling with) Italian Unification at the moment so bought this book in the hope that it would shed some light on what exactly happened during unification, especially seeing as Heinemann is a pretty well known and reliable source. well...I'm not convinced, it has some really useful parts but the majority I found not to be that relevant to what I'm studying and the layout - black and white text, that's it - was a bit scary to plunge in to. If you're really desperate like me then I recommend you give it a go as you might take more from it than I have but bear in mind it's not hugely useful.

Books : Britain, 1815-51: Protest and Reform (Heinemann Advanced History)
This book was recommended to me by my history teacher who thought it would do me good whilst preparing for my exams which are ever closer, and she was correct! What this book does is summarises everything learnt in the 1830-50 history with handy sources and questions to help preparation for exams. It leaves out the unnecessary flowery language that fills all other history books leaving you with the nitty gritty assessment of 19th century Britain.A great study aid!
