While I still say don't drive in France without it, the little symbol for Michelin-listed Camping Sites has been removed. This is a big disappointment for the camping fraternity. I suppose SatNav is taking over (some campsite websites give their Long & Lat now), but you still a need a decent map to get the overal picture and work out alternatives when the SatNav fails, tries to send you the wrong way up a one way street or is just plain out of date. This is your decent map of roads in France!

I went on a battlefield tour of the D-Day landing beaches and the Normandy campaign, and found this fantastically useful. Having things like the flooded areas marked on the map helped put it all into context on the ground.

This map is the one which almost everyone sees and is good for navigation but is totally incorrect for showing the size of countries and continents. It shows Greenland to be about the same size of Africa when in fact, Africa is 13 times larger. Everyone should look up Peters Projection on the web to realise this.

This is a great, easy to use large scale map which would have been perfect for a road trip if it hadn't started to fall apart after just 2 days. The spiral-bound sheets are far too thin and ripped easily.

Having used and contributed to the Good Food Guide for many years,I thought i would give this a try. Well it is not just a food guide but has a very handy slip out map,it also covers hotels in most price brackets. the restaurants are top quality but it includes a lot at reasonable prices. The reviews are succinct and very accurate,you feel they are a betterassessment than the Good Food guide.Top me it has entirely supplanted the Good Food Guide. It is a handy size fits into and slips out of the pocket easily and is the most amazing value.Maybe its size is why i lost it,possibly in Galvins. My only quibble is that it does not include opening hours,so if you are looking to eat early or late you need ... Read More:
