I looked around before I bought this book - I wanted something that had a lot more to it than the fish sections of general cook books, and I really wanted the sections on choosing fish and basic tchniques. As you can see from the other reviews, it fits the bill very well However, I mark it down one star because using it as a cook book is actually quite difficult because of the lack of a proper cross-referenced index showing fish types and recipes. What they do is give you a load of recipes, which are listed under the name of a single fish, but may recommend up to about half a dozen other fish that will work. I bought this book for my 13 year old, what a well written funny book. It is written in an informative yet relaxed way that most normal teenagers will understand. Although we have a relaxed approach to answering sex questions there are some things a teenage boy just cant ask his parents, this book filled in the gaps. Buy it !

when i read this book i thought that it was written by amateur travellers.Well if someone would like to write a travell book of a country i think that he must read first some books of the history and culture of the place .In this book we can see an epidermic show of greece.Too many bars cafe's etc etc(greece is full of them it is not a big deal to introduce some of them).Speaking of history of greece this book is definitely not a masterpiece :)

I find it remarkable that anyone would find this guide a dud. For me it is quite simply the best guide you can get. Best because it is full of pertinent, relevant and accurate information. And it is written by people who KNOW the islands. Space dictates brevity, and l would like to see a second version published - alongside this one - full of expounded text and masses of exquisite colour plates: like a full-size Eyewitness guide. The Greek islands are not just physical inorganic entities but four dimensional experiences. From the ravishing wind and surf of the impossibly beautiful and romantic Aegean, to the noisy ferries that ply the islands, The Rough guide graps at Zephrs to bring us a Meltimi of information.
