When my book came through the post and flicked through the pages, I actually started juming about and screaming!!! The pictures are so amazing. I was in so much excitement about the holiday I am going on this summer. I am going cycle touring in France, and this book is going to become my bible. Infact I was so impressed by it, I planned my whole route so that I could pick up as many campsites as possible. Trust me, the campsites are totally stunning, well thats if you think stunning is beautiful, rural, and peaceful campsites with breath taking views!

Always been a very big fan of Lonely Planet guides... they have helped me round India, Nepal, Pakistan, France, Italy and Ireland. As my old copy is pre-Euro I thought I'd get a new up to date copy. Wish I hadn't. I've been looking at the Paris section... we are taking our children and I was interested in Parc d'Asterix... no mention. Several pages on Disney. Lots of other destinations on our 'tick list' are missing. Nice photography as ever, and the usual clear concise style. I realise they cna't put everything in the guide but these are major omissions. Not recommended. Sorry Lonely Planet!

..instead of having to pay through the nose for a copy in a Sienese bookshop. As ever, LP guides have the feeling of being written by someone who's actually been there, and the advice on San Gimignano (get there early or go in Winter) would have been worth it alone. This is an excellent guide, especially if - like us - you were roaming over both regions during your holiday. Highly recommended

At long last I've got my hands on a well-written and lively guide to this fun part of the world. The author takes you round the region with solid assurance that this is the place to be, and gives you a real insight its culture and heritage. The recipes are a useful addition and the wine-tasting hints and wine map of the region give it something that would-be wine buffs (like me) will find useful. The pictures are pleasing and the text is accurate, and though the book is not as good a companion as my dog, it aided my trip no-end. For something honest and often amusing, look no further.

If you buy just one book for your Baltic trip, this is the one. It is well-written, chock full of practical information and historic background to make the most of your travels. There's no worry if you don't know the language or how to catch the bus in Tallinn; it helps you do it yourself. The one minor irritation is that there was no reference to TrekBaltics, an Estonian adventure travel company that we found on our own. That was a great find. All in all -- a terrific book, and the most updated one available today.

This is a lovely story which is accompanied with beautiful illustrations. It describes the adventures of Tabby as she attempts to retrieve her patchwork quilt. This will be loved by adults and children alike, and is still a firm favourite of mine fifteen years on!

If you're going to all three of the above cities, this book is great. However, if you're only visiting one of them, you only need 1/3 of it! I recently went for a city break to Milan, and felt a bit frustrated as the information wasn't as in-depth as I would have liked, and there was so much stuff that I just didn't need (about Turin and Genoa). To be be honest, I rate the more specific Time Out guides much higher, and will stick to buying them (from amazon of course!) in the future.
