This book is fascinating for any tree enthusiast. It is the perfect tool you can use to identify different tree types. The writing style is concise and in-depth. A sheer masterpiece. Picture quality is high definition. Images are portrayed in vivid detail. This book is fantastic. If you are even slightly interested in trees or want to expand your knowledge of trees buy this book.

I read the reviews and decided to buy the book based on the high proportion of 5* ratings. I was not disappointed! The book is the size of an average paperback, has a protective clear plastic sleeve, glossy pages, stunning photographs & great summaries on key facts of interest about each bird - definitely the best £7.99 I've spent in a long time!

This is a really useful book and is well illustrated throughout with photos to help you identify what you're looking at. Until recently this was the only book I'd take with me when out and about exploring nature, but lately I've taken the Armchair Naturalist by Johnson P. Johnson as well (a beautiful book with some more obscure facts and a wry sense of humour). If you're interested in British nature at all, get both!

I bought this book having already owned the Collins Complete British Wildlife Photoguide and finding I needed something more comprehensive. I was not disappointed - the book is well laid out with clear photos and plants grouped together by family. There is also a glossary and brief but clear guides to leaves, fruits and seeds and an flower identification guide. Using photographs rather than drawings also helps with identification. A very clear and easy-to-use guide that should be perfect for anyone like me who is not an expert in botany but wants a detailed guide that makes identification simple and easy.

This book does not cover every species you are likely to encounter but it gives a good 'taster' of most. It covers a wide range from amphibians to insects and is indispensable for those enquiring minds. The photographs are excellent and the book is very portable and user friendly. I would recommend to anybody with a general interest in the wildlife of this area.

I was after a compact but comprehensive guide to British wild flowers and found it in this book. Identification of wild flowers and wild plants including grasses and rushes is easy with this book. The photographs are crisp and clear. Description of the plants and their uses is limited, but I definitely recommend this publication to anyone who is interested in knowing which plants they are looking at.

This is an excellent little reference book, thorough yet portable. Unlike the Collins Complete British Wildlife guide which provides only half a dozen lines and one image for each entry, the Collins Complete British Animals dedicates a couple of pages to each species - one containing identification details, habitats, habits, obervation details, and distribution maps, and the other containing multiple photographs. It might not have as much breadth as the Wildlife guide, but it has far, far more substance. At the back of the book there are also sections to help with identifying skulls, antlers, droppings, rodent nests, and tracks, and also plans for making bat and dormouse boxes.
