Books : Breast Is Best
If you're experiencing issues with breastfeeding, you may want to avoid this book, as it advocates complete submission to the baby's needs. It paints an ideal of lactating motherhood that many women find difficult to identify with, and can instil feelings of guilt and exacerbate post-natal depression.

This book is marvellous.
Ok some of the opinions on childcare and routine (whch is very minimal anyway) are not going to hit it right with all, but overall a really great book for every mum to read.
I had been breastfeeding for 3 months when i was hit with repeated mastitis this lowered my breastmilk production and I was on the verge of having to introduce formula to ensure our baby gained weight. Hubby bought me this book and the wealth of information in it not only picked my spirits up but also helped me understand how breastfeeding works. I am now at 6months and my daughter's weight has shot up, she sleeps better, we've been able to put off solids until the 26wk mark etc etc.
I'm not sure I'd have got to this point and still ... Read More:

Books : Good Food for Kids
This book has so many recipes that are really healthy and suitable for babies, toddlers, and grown-ups too! I have been making the recipes in this book for all of us - my 2 year old son and myself and husband - he never even realised I had been using a kid's recipe book!

It is really easy to follow - loads of options for different age groups and tastes. It makes cooking a breeze! We have enjoyed everything I have made - my son especially loved the "Magic Mince" and I feel good about him eating it with loads of hidden vegetables in it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a fussy eater!

It has healthy, low salt, low sugar recipes that even goes well with my diet!

Books : The Lunchbox Book: Healthy Packed Lunches for Children of All Ages
Unlike an earlier reviewer we have found this book very useful [although I do concede that my son (4) is slightly unusual in that he loves vegetables and is quite an adventurous eater].

This is an incredibly middle-class and nutritionally correct book (I think that Jamie Oliver would approve!) and I found this a little wearing at times. However, the book is well structured and packed with interesting and useful suggestions.

If you are looking to spice up packed lunches and your child is reasonably adventurous with respect to food then this book is a gold mine.

I use several books when making food for my nine-month-old, including Annabel Karmel and Cooking for Coco, but this is the one I prefer. The meals are all really tasty and my son laps them up. They are also easy to make and don't require lengthy shopping trips or much fiddling about. I'd definitely recommend it.
