In general terms I have found this a fairly essential piece of kit to get the most out of GTA: San Andreas. There are a few issues with the pictures for the tags/photos and horseshoes though actually it's the latter which I have found out of synch with the guide. The mission guides are exactly that and if you want more creative or alternative solutions to some of the tasks, the excellent essays on Gamefaqs may prove more useful. That I've had the book two and a half years and it's so well thumbed that pages are falling out is testimony to how well used it's been. Unfortunately also highlights the rather poor quality binding in a book that's likely to get heavy and extended use, including photocopying list pages to avoid ... Read More:

Brady has published some of the best strategy guides I have seen, but this is not one of them. It does contain some tips, and lots of information available elsewhere (user's manual). But it doesn't contain much strategy. But this is a strategy guide, so it is actually quite a big problem. It doesn't address economy at all. Seeing that you need money to do anything in the game, this is a HUGE shortcoming. It also doesn't tell you anything about the various formations and orders in the tactical interface. The strategy guide for Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour is a bigger volume than this one, and that should say a lot, as this game is infinetely more complex than C&C.
