The sheer scale of the project and the daunting nature of the challenges Brunelleschi faced are breathtaking. The book could do with a few more diagrams and modern close up photographs, but is otherwise a fine book.

His writing is more like story telling and keeps you engrossed with his writing style which I enjoyed very much. All the information about the Great Michalangelo was very informative. I thoroughly recommend this book to everyone, and I hope Ross King will publish many more wondeful books in the very near future.

This is a very good,self explainatory book. Even though some of the comments in the book itself might sound scarry. For example, after certain chapter and you still cannot manage to grasp it, the author actually asks you to give up! But it serves as a motivator to me. Very clear, from beginner to more advanced level explaination are given. but one must be keen and constantly doing the study!
