I bought this book for my six month old and she giggles whenever Boris comes to kiss her! The book is great for creating interaction and we never seem to tire of it, although i'm sometimes unsure of who enjoys it the most, my daughter or her dad!

Dudley is a hand puppet set inside a book. He has bad manners - shouting instead of singing, talking in the cinema and refusing to clean his teeth. Verity (2 1/2 years old) loves him and we have used Dudley to teach her what good manners are. As well as asking us to control and be Dudley's voice, she will also sometime control him herself and have long conversations with him. To make a book interactive by simply combining it with a hand puppet is a genius idea and it makes a refreshing change from 'sit down and listen' storytelling. An easy 5 stars.

The story is a bit of a disappointment it's very basic, and only calls for a couple of outings for the books trick. The furry dog toy has a whooppee cushion inside, which is tricky to use as to obtain optimum fartage you need to put it on a flat surface. That said, you can have great fun popping it under your baby when they sit, and seeing the look on their face is priceless.

This is my daughter's favourite book and ofter has to be read 3 or 4 times in a row. It's the first book to be pulled from the box when she wants a story read to her. At 9 months she is now able to pull the flaps on each page to reveal the knickers...and takes much delight in doing so. I'm only worried that her first word will actually be 'knickers'

We got this book free in the Bookstart pack we were given by our Health Visitor when my baby was 6 weeks old. Even at this young age my son is captivated by "Happy Dog Sad Dog" thanks to the vivid colours and contrasts of the pictures. A wonderful first book that should continue to be a favourite as he grows. I would also recommend other Sam Lloyd titles. We have "Calm Down Boris" and "Hello Dudley" which, although not quite suitable for our son yet, had both me and my husband in stitches when we first read it. As soon as baby is old enough to appreciate them, I'm sure they'll become favourite reads for all of us.

This is a beautiful story with illustrations to treasure. The book comes with a CD so you can hear the story read by Richard E. Grant.

for both children and adults. The sequel to Mr Pusskins a great cat character (a big fat moody Persian). Who is somewhat "displeased with his fabulous surprise". Buy it!

Well I just loved the look of this and was delighted that my children loved it too. Such a funny tale, with a great melodic rhyming story, a good message and fab pictures.
