My step father was an Italian restauranteur and had a copy of this same book in Italian throughout his career. He even had it rebound a few years back. During his life he ran a hotel in Rome and cooked for cardinals that came there from the vatican using recipes from the Silver spoon. I was therefore thrilled when this came out in English and so far have bought 3 copies so that both my daughters have them for their homes. They use them daily. Not only is this the authentic cookery book for Italian food lovers it is amazingly economical, utilising seasonal fresh foods and not that many ingredients unlike so many newer recipes. I'm probably preaching to the converted, but ISIHAC is intelligent, naughty, fantastic, foolish, sarcastic, and more. iPod users beware - you simply cannot stop yourself laughing to this. The radio in my car died and so I dug these out of my cupboard. Haven't enjoyed the commute so much for ages. Don't miss out.

This is the first time I've read one of the Black Lace Quickies series, but if this one is anything to go by, it won't be the last. The first in the series, this book contains six short stories all by different authors. There's the story of the young woman doing unspeakably naughty things at petrol stations; the seventeen year old boy that gets to live the ultimate teenage fantasy; a doctor/patient scenario; a horny air hostess; a brother/sister combo causing havoc on a passenger liner, and twins that swap places to have the adventure of their lives. This is so funny you will be in pain, ISIHAC will keep you amused for hours, use it again and again and again this is worth 6 stars there is only one bad thing-there will never be another Willy Rushton. Apart from that there is nothing funnier you can buy!!!

I listen to this driving in to work. It makes me laugh, even on a Monday morning. Trouble is, other drivers think I'm insane or laughing at them and give me grief, glowering at me from their cars. That makes me laugh even more. Give up on Wogan and The Today Programme and get this instead.
