Make!by Cath Kidston I have just received this book, I have been eagerly waiting for it (ordered on pre-order - received earlier than expected!) and when I saw the lovely cover I was not disappointed! The book is full of clear colour photos on a lovely quality thick paper. This will be coveted by all ardent Cath fans to add to their collection, and with the added bonus of the plain tote bag supplied ready for you to customise, it will bring a smile to those writing their Xmas wish lists. It also comes with a Cath Kidston pencil and a skein of red embroidery thread to get you going! This is a sublime diary, it has a soft outer cover very much like leather and beautiful to the touch. It is a little smaller than it looks on the screen but it is the most practical diary you can buy. It has all sorts of content including distances to other worldwide cities, tempretures, weight and length measurements, time zones etc although this may not be that useful its a nice touch. There is ample space to write notes for each day plus a lined page to make additional notes. Come to think of it the size is actually perfect it is after all a pocket diary i like the pocket inside the back cover...the only problem now is i think twice before commiting anything to ink on the nice off white pages and i need the writing to be perfect ... thats a weird ... OK I confess - I am a bit of a sucker for the whole moleskine thing. On my shelf I've got several different formats, all of which get used regularly in different contexts. I DO agree with a previous reader that the paper is just a tad to thin for fountain pen ink - although that is how I use my large notebook. The nib of the pen glides particularly well over the paper, so I tend to ignore the fact that it seeps through a bit. On the whole - a good practical size, well-made, and a joy to have available for all kinds of note-taking.

If your like me and inspiration whacks you between the eyes at the most awkward times - like when your walking down the street or sitting on the train - then having this in your pocket is really handy. I really appreciate the quality moleskine have consistently applied to their whole range, and this pocket sketchbook in particular screams that. The pages are thick enough that marks don't show through on the other side, they can be opened flat which allows you to draw wider landscape style drawings and you never have the fear that the book will come apart for it, it's very 'solid'. Overall you pay a little extra for luxury, and this is exactly what it feels like when using one of these books. My only wish is that they made A4 size and above versions ... Read More:

This sketchbook is designed with the traveller in mind: hard, durable covers held shut with a ribbon of elastic, contains plenty of heavy weight, durable paper, and a handy fold-out pocket in the back for loose paper paraphernalia. The size won't hog too much bag space and could probably fit inside a coat pocket. In any event it isn't too cumbersome to carry about in the hand. A thing I would say is the paper is exceptionally smooth, having little tooth, and proves to have a slightly resistive quality with certain media. It's fabulous to work on with inks, felt pens etc., not so easy with water-based paints and some pencils - if you prefer these to inkwork then I would suggest looking at other books, for example the Moleskine watercolour sketchbook, or one ...
