Excellent balance between text and pics with loads of facts and bits of interviews I have never read before as well as pictures never seen before to my knowledge. The author did a really thorough job at finding out about Kate's style which is basically all about having an eye for things and integrating them to make them your own. And that's what great style is about. Brilliant

This was the first book of katie's that i read and i really enjoyed it. She is very forward about everything she says and isn't afraid to speak what's on her mind! Thats what i love about it, it's just about her. It's a great read and i would recommend anyone to get it, it would be money well spent! :)

Feel Fab at 50 Body shape is crucial to finding clothes that flatter, as they determine the fabrics and styles that will move with you and not add on pounds. I think that S&T, though I am a fan, have moved away from the traditional image shapes such as pear and apple and come up with many more, probably unnecessarily. You really only need to understand where the curves or straight lines of your silhoutte appear and dress them accordingly. So a straight hipped woman with no bum would look great in a straight skirt in a stiff fabric. Curves need drape to skim. It's really quite simple. This book deconstructs various styles that are hallmarks of style icons such as Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn etc. It encourages people to adopt a different style depending on their mood. While the deconstruction of the styles is interesting and well thought out, my problem with it is that to me style is not really about mood - it is about personality. Your style should reflect the person you are rather than looking like a cheap imitation of someone else. So, if someone's natural style is "gamine" nothing prevents them from dressing say "avant-garde eccentric" or "cutting edge cool", but the problem is they may also look like they are playing a part in a play rather than being themselves. This is a gorgeous,sumptuous book. It works precisely because it let's Vivienne's clothes speak for themselves. The full page glossy pictures of the most influential designer of the 20th Century almost make you salivate. I used to shop at World's End and wore the original Pirate range, but even then I'd still forgotten just how stunning it was. If you are interested in fashion, music, history, art, literature, anarchy and chaos, then this is for you.

An amazing good Fashion book! A-Z of fashion icons, photographers, models, designers, etc. Everyone that is in the fashion world well known! I loved looking through the book as I didn't know every single person mentioned in it! It's a must buy if you are interested/in to fashion!

This book is a good starter but there are many printing errors (wrong instructions, missing instructions) so beware. It also assumes that you are familiar with some pattern cutting techniques. If you are an absolute beginner it would be useful to have someone in the know to ask as at times it is possible to become absolutely stuck. If you are studying pattern cutting this would be a really useful book to have. If you are learning by yourself, you may find this book to be a little frustrating.
