I had read a lot about El Bulli and Ferran Adria in newspapers and magazines, but his restaurant always seemed remote and mysterious. This book goes into great detail to show how "the world's number one restaurant" actually works, from 6am when the sun comes up to 2am when the customers have left and the door is locked. It's fascinating (and a little frightening) to see the lengths that Adria and his team go to in order to ensure that every guest has the best experience. There are some recipes, but you'd need a candyfloss machine and various other arcane bits of kit to make them all. With really good looking, taste, but so so simple...
The book is laid out with easy too follow instructions...
Sometimes only four easy steps...
As I said its Stir Frying For Idiots, and the lazy or persons with no free time...

It even tells you what type of wok to buy, and how to look after it!

Its worth having even if you only take some of the info, it will give your cooking more WOW!

this is an okay book but there is very little that makes you go 'mmmm yeah ill have to make that' i think i ll keep looking for that perfect tapas book

When I bought this book I was hoping for a book with simple easy to make recipes (soups should be easy I think). Some of the recipes are just too overcomplicated.

This book has no conversion table for readers in Europe and it also uses expensive ingreadients. I always get dissapointed when buying books from the U.S. I suggest you stay clear of this book and buy something by Gordon Ramsay or Jamie and just make the dishes smaller thats what Rick Tramonto has done. Further more to have scallops and lobster on as amuse is quite expensive, a cook normally uses what he has left over to make amuse bouche and not many people have scallops or lobster lying around in the fridge.
