I'm somewhat confused about the plot of this one. It seems to me that Faith was more than redeemed during S7 of the show and more than made up for her previous evil and mistakes. Seems rather churlish to be talking about wiping the slate clean after that!

What a fantastic edition. Literally got delivered to my work this morning and i've already read most of it. I love the artwork, totally stunning, the vivid colours of the Joker are fantastic, it is also great having a story telling the Jokers background. I may not be a graphic novel expert but I do know that I loved this, and would highly reccommend it to anyone looking for a story that really gives an insight into what pushed one of the most easily recognisable villains to the edge and made him what he is.

Watchmen? That old chestnut? For some of you, I might as well gush forth another pool of ink from my bookish veins in sacrifice to Ulysses, Catch-22 or any of the accepted, superdense, whitebread doorstops, but wait. Hear me out. For all the carping and trumpeting in the style rags and Sunday mags over the last twenty years about the inexorable rise of the 'Graphic Novel', to most of the literate public West of Okinawa, they're still 'just comics'. And that's fine. Hollywood will continue to market eviscerated 'adaptations' like so much fanboy glop into the collective maw of the lapping masses with no regard for cohesion, intelligence or taste. And that's fine. Broadsheet critics will swill their jaded palates with vintage Pinot and sniff loudly in the ... Read More:

I was looking forward to reading this and I haven't yet seen the film but I was left very let down. The story is intriguing and the artwork is excellent and I get the point of the story ( wishing you were someone else/somewhere else etc ) but at the end of the story the characters are very one-dimensional, you don't really care for them and whether they succeed or fail. The story is pretty hollow and it just never really goes anywhere. Shame.

If I had to choose one word to describe this, I would choose the word epic. Why? Because its an interesting look on how Bruce Wayne would handle himself in his later years with excellent action sequences and crisp dialogue. There's really only one thing bad about this, and that is the lack of Joker. Sure he's in it, but he's not really as important to the plot as he should have been. And he's camper than ever. But aside from that, buy it. It should tickle your fetish.

Lost Girls has come under fire from critics who have argued that the book displays controversial sexual content involving children - before you buy this book I think the reader should be aware of this and make a judgement as to whether they really wish to read such things (I was unaware of this).
Yes, the writing is very clever as each of the girls 'speak' in a different dialect. Also, the art reflects the original stories of Alice (as in 'Wonderland'), Dorothy (from 'Wizard of Oz') and Wendy (from Peter Pan). I had a hard time understanding why someone would wish to pollute and denigrate children's classics by having older versions of these characters describe their first sexual experiences (of which Dorothy's involves her father...although this bit I have only gleaned ... You can really tell when a series is finally starting to wind down, and the plot threads are being tied off one by one.

Such is the case in the twentieth volume of "Fruits Basket," where Akito's dark family legacy and malign mother are finally exposed completely, and the curse comes further unraveled. There's a little romance around the edges, but not much comedy here -- only a lot of heartrending loneliness, and a bloody secret that has been torturing poor Kyo for years.

The whole story of Akito's mysterious box is revealed, as we see how Akito's parents -- beautiful, sheltered invalid Akira and his seductive maid Ren -- met and married, despite the family's protests. When Akito was born, Ren rejected her out of jealous hatred, and Akito clung instead to her loving ... Read More:

Brilliant. Great read. Shocking. Funny. Superlatives simply arent enough to describe this. If you thought Preacher was good, you're going to love this one! In a somewhat odd box world of a new pantheon of Supes strutting their stuff(ala Bendis with Powers style) we follow The Boys who go about exacting retribution on these untouchables, these being an interesting mix of; Mockney hardman, a wee Scottish fella, a goth japanese slaughterhouse, a large American called "mothers milk" ! and an eccentric Frenchman. It sounds bizarre, and it is, but it so, so works. The art work is wonderful, the writing is tight and witty, and you will not be disappointed. You'll read it and think "I'm going to re-read that one again".
