A nice and quick read for those of a racier nature. There are several short stories to wet your appetite or anything else! Thoroughly enjoy this book.

The main way that I rate a book is the levels of neglect in my home, sad to say my pots got washed and kids fed. So a reluctant 3 stars given, as ever Ms Carlyle writing is of a good standard and the story moves on at fair pace, the interactions between the H/H were reasonably effective altogether a pretty good book, BUT, if you're used to reading a book from cover to cover in one sitting I would say read this but don't be dissappointed when you fail to get the buzz that usually comes with this authors work if you have'nt read anything by this author before I would recomend that you start with some of her earlier stories as they have more bite to them, my favourite being Devil to Pay Kieran, Baron Rothwell is a hardened gamster and ... This volume of "quickies" was some of the best erotic reading I have done in a while. It was to the point, to put it mildly! Can't wait for vol. 3!! Another "quickie" erotic read I devoured and would recommend: Sex Scenes: Erotica Excerpts from the Novels of Kim Corum.

Having been a massive fan of Stephanie Laurens for a while I have been waiting for this book to arrive and was sadly more than a little dissapointed. After the cliffhanger intro in the previous book I had really been anticipating so much and what a let down... I had hoped Christian and Leticia would have caught my imagination as the previous main characters in the Bastion Club novels had but they didn't at all. It was a great shame, but the back plot build up of Royce kept me reading and I will be getting the final book as I am sure many others will. I have read a lot of erotica in my time and I have to say that this is the best ever. It has a different feel to it than the other books. Whereas a lot of them seem cold and restrained, this book goes all the way so to speak. But having said that it isnt crude in any way, but it does deliver the passion. Also what is unusual is that the stories are obviously all by the same author, rather than a collection of stories by a number of authors. Inevitably there are certain passages that you think to yourself that you've heard before, but that is only a minor critisism because on the whole the book is excellent. This is one of the best books i have ever read. Its plot will have you stuck to the sofa making you unable to put it down until you've gotten to the end. I wasn't sure about it at first but after starting to read i couldn't stop. I now look very forward to reading the other books in the immortal series.

Regardless of everything else in the book (which wasn't awful but wasn't great either) I can't give this book more than a one star review because the hero sexually assaults the heroine within the first couple of chapters of the book. In my opinion there is no justification for sexual assault and therefore I could not enjoy this book.

This book put me off to begin with because it was the first book from the series i had read and as it started with a glossary i was like - oh here we go, but it actually turned out to be a good read. The relationship between the two characters is good and believable however i would say that from the other reviews you would not realise that the book is fairly graphic. However these scenes come in chapters almost so can be missed out if the reader desires. The view point throughout the book changes, mostly between the two main characters so you get a good understanding of the events from both charcaters perspective. I did prefer this book to the one i am currently reading in the series - A Hunger like no other, as the characters have a different and from my point of view more ... Read More:
