Okay, I'm only 12 years old. But, I've grown out of Beano (as you've probably gathered by this review). I Know You Got Soul is a riveting read. Magnificently written in every way. If I was a critic, and by no means am I, I'm certain I couldn't find a flaw with it.

This book is a compilation of 21 marvellous machines that have something that other machines just haven't got. The list includes Concorde, the AK47, the Spitfire, Yamato, the Millennium Falcon, the B-52, the Graf Zeppelin and many others. As soon as I started reading this book, I could see where he was coming from.
In this spectacular read, Clarkson explains the machines that he thinks have soul, and he's not afraid to tell you what doesn't.
With his usual ... Read More:

The series was brilliant, and I really looked forward to reading the book - and, for once, I was not disappointed!

Ms. Cadbury should feel proud about her achievement. The book is very well written, and the information conveyed in such a relatively short space (only about 50 pages for each 'wonder') is rich, detailed and extremely interesting - and should prove interesting for everyone! She draws together tales from the labourers, from the supervisors, from the finaciers, and from the relatives of those involved with the, often, super-human projects to produce a truly fascinating book.

I don't normally go for historical books, but this is probably one of the best exeptions to that rule. All I can say is, "thank you mum ... Read More:

I must admit I didn't buy this book from Amazon, in fact I have had it more than 25 years and I still enjoy reading it.

Gripping descriptions of bombing missions are interspersed with other anecdotes, often very funny and irreverant. You get a real feeling of what it was like and how Currie and his crew coped when others didn't.

Highly recommended.

This book manages to give a concise biography of Gresley whilst telling us how Mallard came to gain the World Speed record. It also partly explains why steam traction lasted so long (by comparison with diesels), though there is no comparison with electric traction systems, loco or multi-units as operated by, I believe the Southern Region earlier than elsewhere in the UK, and the long legacy the Swiss have in electric traction. Apart from this and a slight dryness of style it is a 10 star book.

We recommend this book to everyone involved in innovation. Whether you're involved as a creative thinker, a promoter of new products, a manager guiding the innovation process or an investor evaluating an innovative company, there's gold here for you. Authors Tony Davila, Marc J. Epstein and Robert Shelton compress a mass of research and experience in innovation practices into a set of rules and guiding principles. Then, they use stories, lucid explanations, charts and careful definitions to illustrate how these principles work. A few of these concepts could have been expanded profitably - for example, how to tell in practice when radical innovation is needed, how to determine if you're innovating too much or too fast, and how to sort out the best ideas without ... I found the book a thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable read. It includes plenty of examples and Rheingold's thoughts on how the mobile phone especially will change society. To me it seems to build on thoughts in Timo Kopomaa's book City in Your Pocket, and now more recent books such as Paul Golding's Next Generation Wireless Applications, or Ahonen & Moore's Communities Dominate Brands seem to then take these concepts from the academic and philosphical views into the more practical. I warmly recommend this book and am certain it will be considered one of the classics of the industry.

I have recently bought this book from amazon. I grabbed a nice deal for little over nine pounds. This book has been forwarded by Dr John Reid MP and introduced by Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup Chief of Air Staff.
This guide is divided into Air Combat, Air Combat Support, Air Battle Management, Flying Training and Future Equipment.
It discusses about all kinds of inventories of RAF.
Loads of nice photographs.
Must for a collector

If I fully understand Judy Estrin's key points (and I may not), there are at least two "gaps" that need to be reduced, if not closed: between where innovation in the US once was and where it is now as well as between where innovation in the US is now and where it could (and should) be. One of the important - and most useful -- terms on her book is "innovation ecosystem." In an Introduction that really should be read 2-3 times before embarking on the first of eight chapters, Estrin observes that "Biological ecosystems that sustain life are models for the organizations, people, and forces that enable innovation. Life flourishes because of a dynamic interaction between communities of living organisms and their environment...In Innovation Ecosystems, the collaborative organisms ... Read More:
