This book contains tips and advice on what to expect on the BMAT test and what kind of skills you need to develop to do well. The majority of the book is taken up by a worked BMAT style paper. Each question has a commentary about different ways of approach and the techniques that could save you time. It also has copies of the answer sheet you'll have to fill in on the day of the test and the marking scheme. Reading this book alone would not be a complete preparation for the test - unless you ace all the questions - and further study texts are recommended inside. The book deals with many different horse management aspects, such as equine anatomy/phsiology, watering and feeding, tack, shoeing, planning day to day chores, clipping, and generally shows how things should be done properly. In particular the sections on nutrition are good, as they cover the biological nutrients needed, the way in which the horse digests food, and how to ration for your own horse covering horses which are used for dressage, jumping, endurance etc. This book will not however answer all of your questions, nor is it meant to. It does however provide more than just a starting point for your research. Trust me I am an equine studies degree student.

Consise, well oranised and very informative, can be read little by little and used as reference as has simple english but thorough explanations. Ideal for those starting out in vet science, nursing, assistant etc..

bought it for my dad an avid "fancier". he loves it. claims it is the only place that tells it straght about real world diseases etc. has saved the lives of at least 3 birds and he only keeps abot 20 at a time. buy it. is well worth it. p

As a new Reiki therapist, I wanted to learn about using it on animals, so I bought this book. Part One explains the basics of Reiki, (for more details I would recommend The Reiki Sourcebook by Frans and Bronwen Stiene), Part Two is the actual getting ready and giving a treatment, and Part Three explains Reiki for specific animals, with sections for dogs, cats, horses, small animals etc. Part Four is for going on to Level 2 Reiki. The whole book is interspersed with stories of animals which have been treated, and the results obtained. The book is aimed at people who have taken Reiki Level 1. However it can be enjoyed by all levels, I myself am a Reiki 2. The stories of the animals are lovely and encourage you to go out and do your thing! Read More:

I've had this dictionary since it was first published, and it has been WELL worth it and has been invaluable to me right through my biology a-levels to now being in my second year of a degree in animal management, it is never far from my side when I'm doing an assignment, and without it I'm lost, whether its to find proper definitions for a quote or to check something it is just sooo handy, both for my course and as a serious pet owner, trying to decipher some of the technical terms used in articles and textbooks. Overall, I can't fault it, and I can't see myself ever wanting to part with my copy!

I picked this book up in a clearance since I had just adopted three kittens. I have grown up with animals in the home for over 25 years and luckily have had very few problems. However I was concerned about having a multi cat household. This book contains practical advice on what problems may occur and how to try and overcome them. I look forward to reading the rest of the authors books in future
