This is a brilliant boxed set, i managed to get this for under £45 which is incredible given the books individually are priced at £13 each !! The attention to detail in these books are second to none - buy it now before the price goes back up !!

This is just the book to have if you are into hillwalking in the UK hills. The good old Langmuir book was just a little too long winded and complex and never managed to get anything out of. However the Mountain Leader book or the green book has been my bible when preparing for my Mountain Leader. Whenever I forgot something from my training I just pulled this book out from my shelf and looked it up. I advise anyone interested in hillwalking to consider buying the Mountain Leader Handbook.

Not having any experience of hill walking or map reading it's always difficult to really know if the book you have just ordered on Amazon is going to suffice. Will it be clear, easy to read for a beginner and will it keep my interest. Well this book is a gem, extremely clear and easy to read and with the full colour photographs my interest is still with the book even though I am now at work waiting to go home so I can read some more. Can't wait to try out my new found knowledge in the 'wild'.

I did the Coast to Coast walk back in '89 (in baking hot weather) and again - partly - in '96 (in pouring rain). Up to this day the memory of this walk remains with me as vividly as ever and I consider that forthnight as the most wonderful two weeks in my life. AW learnt me to appreciate the North English Countryside with its quiet villages and open spaces, its desolate moorlands and austere fells. Furthermore, I consider this guide a little gem because of the hand drawn illustrations, maps and (witty) narrative. I mean - who hand-writes a book? These days you will need additional map material because the route has changed in places, but this book is a requirement. Great pictorial guide using Wainwrights original drawings for 18 walks. Taken from the BBC and Granada tv series. Accompanied by detailed but simple descriptions of what to expect during the walks. Good selection of fell walks from each direction of the Lake District.

This is an essential guide for visiting the Peak District. Well priced and "handy" for the pocket. Well impressed.

This an excellent up to date map from O/S. If you are cruising or sailing on the Norfolk Broads, or visiting the surrounding area then this is a must have item to take with you. It goes into great detail showing exactly where varous facilities and attractions are throughout the whole broads network. As an added bonus this 'Active' map is covered in a waterproof coating which allows you to write on it or mark various locations using a chinagraph pencil. I found this feature to be very useful when recording where the various water fill up locations are around the broads, as unfortunately O/S do not mark this on the map. Overall a 10/10 very useful and easy to read map. Its an excellent companion for your holiday. Read More:

This is my first time travelling and im finding this book extremely usefull it seems to cover everything you need, a must have buy before you set off!!

This map is a 1:25,000 scale - perfect for walking, hiking and short cycling trips. The Landranger maps may look better, but are 1:50,000. 1:50,000 is pathetic for hikers unless very experienced in their use - imagine ur road atlas being half the size and trying to read the road names. This is the map to go for. Being OS, it's fantastic, and even has the ski centre and all its ski lifts marked out!
