David Icke is ridiculed by many who haven't even read any of his works , but this book is one that everyone should make an attempt to read. It is like a summary of all of the major ideas and theories outlined in Icke's extensive back catalogue of books. For anyone wishing to get to know about these persuasive conspiracy theories "The Guide" is probably the best place to start. For many, the hardest part of Icke's worldview to swallow is that of the "Reptilians" and their nefarious connection with world leaders, but if you replace the word "Reptilian" with "other dimensional entity" or "demon" then it all becomes much more user friendly and "acceptable".The highlight of this book is Icke's analysis of the 9/11 events and if anyone after reading ... Although written for the lay man, this book does take some concentration for those of us who have never studied physics. That said, it is well worth the effort. A fascinating read that will make you look at life, the world and the whole universe in a completely new way

If the last Diana inquest bored you to tears, or you are sick of listening to crap 9/11 conspiracies, get hold of this brilliant book now.

Conspiracy theories, along with quack medicine, fake history and bogus science, all form "Counterknowledge" - that is, `misinformation masquerading as fact.'

The problem is huge, and Thompson powerfully argues that the 21st century faces a `pandemic of credulous thinking' when, conversely, our ability to evaluate claims made about science or history is better than ever before.

With the arrival of the scientific enlightenment, ideas that no longer held their ground were banished to the fringes of society. Now, with internet communication, they have a larger following than ever before. ... Read More:

This is just a quick thumbs up for the previous two reviews which sum up the book nicely. There is much food for thought and plenty of information for further reading. Some of the most interesting aspects for me were the descriptions of the ancient structures found in the pacific ocean. Undoubtedly the remnants of the lost civilisation of Lemuria that the inhabitants of Hawaii, South America and other pacific islands claim to have descended from in their 'myths'.

This was an excellent and highly informative read. Previous reviewers have pretty much covered the aspects and arguments of the book so I won't repeat what has already been said.

Along with E P Sanders' "The Historical Figure of Jesus", I consider Tabor has got the closest to the real Jesus, that is, the Jesus living in first century Galilee. I have no trouble viewing Jesus as both a "viceroy for God" (as Sanders asserts Jesus saw his role as) and a would-be king of an independent Israel with apocalyptic tendencies (as Tabor sees him).

Tabor writes in a scholarly, yet popular and easy to follow manner, which helps to make a difficult subject accessible to scholar and layman alike. The notes and references at the back are plentiful, complete ... Read More:

Reading this book is a bit like having the TV series on DVD; there's a lot more extras, and the commentary is a lot more in-depth.

This book is all about Jon Ronson (a cross between Woody Allen and Louie Theroux) and his travails as he interviews the world's leading conspiracy theorists. Like Louie Theroux he tends to sit back, play innocent and let his subjects talk themselves into a position of absurdity, but in the book we get more of a chance to read what it would be like to be in the company of these people.

It's amusing - you'll probably have read some extracts from The Observer last year if you're a resident of the UK - and it's interesting to see how the underlying atmosphere of paranoia starts to get Ronson considering the possibility of even the more ... Read More:

you do the general public a great service by questioning the mainstream of historians views on civilisations and well history on a whole, i found this book fantastic enlightening scary questionable but most importantly solid his works are well studied and seen first hand. and it will make you re think the history of human civilisation. i for one admire people like graham hancock who arnt afraid to push the bounderies of the incredible acheivments our ancient ancestors discoverd and built where as the mainstream comunity describe them as un civilised barbarians. i recomend this book to every human beign on the planet.

Well, what can I say about this book. I think the most important and notable aspect would be to state that this book contains very little information on the actual Bilderberg group. Instead, most of the chapters are about the Trilateral Commission, the Council of Foreign Relations and a few brief personal "stories" about the author's experiences as a self proclaimed Bilderberg investigator.

Sometimes it gets serious other times you wonder if what you're reading isn't something more on the lines of a fiction novel. In the end, despite its flaws, I would buy it again.

This book is a phenomenal read. Personally, I don't think everything in it holds water, but this kind of broad-spectrum investigative journalism is a rare thing in todays corporate media. Marrs manages to paint the picture, in broad strokes and in detail when possible, that it is INDEED possible to rule by secrecy. Why would anyone want to decieve the world like that? Look at the history of humanity abd you have your answer. This is after all a planet, were the "leader of the free world" is the grand-son of fascist who participated in a failed coup against Roosevelt ans was later condemned under the Trading with the Enemy Act (yes, Prescott Bush had close ties with Fritz Thyssen).

The wealth and power wielded by these groups will make think revolutionary thoughts.

Enjoy, but read with ... Read More:

I read this book in the early 90's when I was a student and it's adventurous musings completely blew me away.

UNFORTUNATELY...

BBC2's Chronicle, if memory serves the programme the author's worked on when they unearthed the books 'mysteries' and hit the big time, did a follow up programme years later and discovered that Baigent, Leigh and Lincoln (and Chronical for that matter) had been had big time. The creepy little French bloke claiming to lead the Prieure De Sion (or however it's spelt) - and therefore by extension was a blood relative of Jesus Christ himself - was actually a professional con man who saw Baigent and Leigh coming a mile off and fed them just enough information to string them along for years!!!

Baigent and Leigh refused to accept the evidence (and well they ... Read More:
