Santa gave this book to my son in his stocking at Christmas! There were a few long faces at first - but this book has been such fun! He really loves going through the exercises and it has really boosted his self-esteem and confidence. Its clear and fun to use - we actually enjoy spending an hour on a Saturday morning learning our times tables together! Thank you.

My son needed something more than his picture dictionary, but not so large he lost interest in looking a word up - and this is perfect. The only down side is the size (A5) and being a hardback, it is a little heavy for carrying around on a daily basis.

as a student teacher i'm constantly looking for new stories and poems - i was delighted to come across this book and took great pleasure in reading it to my class. The children range from 4 to 7 but all loved the story. My animal mad year 2's thought it was brillant whilst the very youngest put it down to magic!! i would recommend this book to anyone with children of any age or those who are still young at heart!!

Having met my daughter's maths teacher who showed me this book to be the foundation of her teachings to all the children in Year 3 (7/8 year olds) I knew that this, together with Books 1,3,4,5 & 6, would be the ideal support for homework assistance. Until I bought this from Amazon, I had no guidelines at all and didn't know if the arithmetic I was 'teaching' at home was too hard, too easy or just plain useless. Now with this book I have the perfect assistant, because I know that the specific topics covered and the level of difficulty is exactly matched to what my daughter is studying at school, so it's an excellent revisionary tool, and it's even enjoyable too! A revision guide which makes English grammar fun. I'm a big fan of the CGP study guide series, and the KS 2 English Study Book is no exception. Our 10 year-old has worked her way through it with enthusiasm. The colourful, well-designed pages and humour make the book a surprisingly enjoyable read. Although this book is aimed at English schoolchildren, I should have thought its comprehensive and comprehensible sections on grammar and usage (eg "When to start a new paragraph"; "Writing a formal letter") would be useful background reading for any student of the English language.

As it says this comprises 20 tests each of 10 questions. I was pleased by the range of questions, the choice of multiple choice or not and the size of the tests does make them very suitable for dropping in across a week, rather than making time for a full length test.
