I have never been as obsessed with a book as I was with Twilight. I thought about it constantly when I wasn't reading it, and lost a lot of sleep over it too! It was quite an unhealthy obsession... Of course the main reason for loving Twilight is obviously Edward... Who doesn't love him?! But it's also just such a charming, exciting story, which I was hooked on within the first twenty pages.

This book was absolutly fantastic!! I stumbled across Stephenie Meyer's Twilight on sale in a local supermarket, after reading the first chapter I was hooked! I rushed around to find New Moon and then waited for Eclipse full of excitment. The wait for Breaking Dawn was a tough one but very worth it, this book did not let me down. It was beautiful and I wanted to be every part of it. In 3 days I finished Breaking Dawn and however much I am kicking myself for that now, I am looking forward to reading it all over again!! Stephenie Meyer not only knew how to capture my attention and hold it there but drew me into a world that I could not forget about through out my day to day life. I am in my late 20's and have / would recommend the 4 books to any age group ... Read More:

Unlike the other reviewers, I thought that Eclipse was the best in the series so far. (It is the third in a set of four). The love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob was so sad and frustrating because we all know that she made the foolish choice in the end but the chemistry between her and her "choice" was so electric, you cant condemn her for it.

What woud you choose? A vampire or a werewolf? hmmmmm difficult choice....

I thoroughly enjoyed the action in this book and found every page an enthralling read. The emotional scenes between Bella and Edward left me with a spine tingling sensation but the one between Bella and Jacob just made me sad.

The characters were really good, the plot was excellant but I would ... Read More:

After reading Twilight, I found myself completely obsessed with Edward, so when I heard that Edward wasn't in New Moon much, I was quite upset. But I read New Moon anyway, unable to resist, and actually found myself really enjoying it, even though Edward was missing from its pages. I liked getting to know and like Bella more, and was especially fond of Jacob, who is really sweet, warm and likable. I also discovered that it cured my "Edward bug" considerably, which I was glad of (though of course I still love him). I was very happy that I read it.

Robert Muchamore is an author who always delivers - until now!

The first in the Cherub series, The Recruit, had me hooked from the start on the adventures of child spy James Adams and his sister, Lauren. No other spy books - Alex Rider, Young James Bond, Jimmy Coates etc - could touch Cherub for quality, excitement or pure enjoyment.

However, I feel very let down by The General. Much of Muchamore's talent comes from creating believable and likeable characters, characters you invest your emotions in - characters you come to care about. In The General, however, he dwells less on the people and more on the action. His characters become cartoon-like, one-dimensional - with no real depth to them.

The story within The General is also ... Read More:

I waited a year for this book, but it was definatley worth the wait. So much happens in this one, and a few things are answered.
An excellent fifth installment to the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. In my opinion, the best of the series so far.
I will probably re-read this and the previous four I own repeatedly, until next September, when the final book comes out.

A fascinating insight into the mind of a TV writer. I hadn't realised that RTD worked so hard - heavily rewriting almost everyone's scripts (apart from Steven Moffat's) including the much lauded Human Nature/Family of Blood.

What I also found interesting about this collection of emails between RTD and Benjamin Cook is that it could almost be said that RTD was using the exchange as therapy - who could have thought that the talking head crying "Marvelous!" and "Hooray!" during Doctor Who Confidential was so wracked with self doubt and self criticism during the creative process? Whatever you may personally think about the episodes he wrote, reading this will give you massive respect for the man.

Despite Russell's disclaimers in the text, in my opinion this book would be useful ... Read More:

The three earlier books in this series are amongst the best fantasy novels I've ever read. Unfortunately, 'The Singing' is not, in my opinion, nearly so good. 'The Riddle', for instance, is a thrilling book from start to finish. It's shocking and visceral - the sort of book that has you anxious for the safety of its characters throughout. The problem, for me, with 'The Singing' is that it has nothing close to that excitement. In fact, it has very little tension, very few if any surprises, and most importantly didn't demand an engagement with its characters from this reader in the way 'The Riddle' demanded you sat up straight and paid attention.
Maered is so powerful in this book I didn't fear for her in the slightest. The amoral'elemental' potential towards evil at the root of her character (introduced ... Read More:

Another great book by JW, I got this the day it came out, and read it in two days. Very addicting and quite sad at times! Although some of the chracters seem like some in other books, I noticed there were some spelling mistakes too, but otherwise, good book and worth the read.
