...and is undoubtably well-described, but the actual storyline wasn't quite as exciting as everyone said it would be. Still, I will be reading the next one!

This much-loved classic is my 10-month old boy's favourite. We deliberately went for the hardback version with board pages, which is capable of withstanding the inevitable bashing it receives better than the paperback version. (The flaps are thin card - hardly indestructible but sturdy enough to require some considerable effort to tear.) Like the review above, I was mildly concerned about the repetition of the word "no" throughout the book, but that's just how the book is and the most important thing is that my son loves interacting with it, always attacking each flap with gusto to see what's underneath it, and that's the most important thing really.

Not good for young readers in the UK. American book - so color not colour. Otherwise OK

I bought these for my two year old who is a recent In The Night Garden fan. They are fantastic. Admittedly the box arrived a bit worse for wear (I am in Australia) but it still holds the books when it needs to. My daughter carries the books everywhere. Stops, sits down to read them, waves them around in one hand, lines them up to count to 6 or turns them over to complete the puzzle on the back. For a few dollars she has had hours of fun already. Highly recommend!

Very special book, very special bear :) Great rendition, though I must admit, I prefer having the individual books! (Maybe one day I shall have...) Beautifully done tho :)

This is a single boxed book which is truly beautifully presented. The original pictures and stories in all their splendour are laid out with loving care. If like me, you do not have room for the 23 little books in a boxed set, this is simply a wonderful alternative. It would be a fantastic present or a perfect book that will make a great impact on your bookshelves. I maybe 50 and have never read a Beatrix Potter story before, but this has certainly caught my attention and made my day!

Although the paper quality is not the best (comparable to those cheap colouring in books you can get), the outer covers are strong and bright but it's the content that makes it great value for money. My six year old has spent ages with this book drawing and perfecting his pokemon favourites. Step by step instructions along with simple diagrams, even the most difficult figures are a cinch once you know how. 17 characters to draw with hints and tips for each one. This is cheaper than most kids magazines and worth every penny in terms of how much use it's had.

Rowling has proved herself yet again to be a master of fantasy fiction in the second installment of the Hary Potter series. The characterisations initially developed in the 'Philosopher's Stone' are considered in depth by the author, allowing presumptions to be overturned, and the impossible to be considered. From the start of this work, adventure and excitement become codewords, allowing readers of any age to engage with the well written literature. Much recommended.
