A very good, easy to follow guide. This includes much of the basics and a lot of more complicated material as well. The only person who won't benefit from this is already a complete expert. Strongly recommended.

This is the first time I have used Blue Guide Sicily. Being a local myself, I have always been quite pedantic and fussy about how detailed and accurate information on Sicily has been researched and presented. I can only say that this is a fantastic guide, very detailed in the historical and artistic descriptions and also very "poetic" in the "quasi-visual" descriptions of the places and of the Sicilian people. The guide gives accurate listings of hotels and places to eat and drink which are reasonably up-to-date and - thank God - not very "faddy". This is maybe a bit of a turnoff for the younger crowd looking for the "hottest spots". But if you are looking for well-established restaurants, bars and hotels with charm and history, this is the guide for you. ... Read More:

Just a line to fully endorse the first reviewer. I have always wanted to play a musical instrument but found the piano and guitar required a manual dexterity that defeated me. However this book contains an excellent CD which encourages you to copy the pieces played, against the backdrop of a good supporting band. I have mastered the playlist in just five months and am now looking to expand my knowledge and perhaps try and play a chromatic harp also.
