I read the book some time ago and therefore do not remember all in detail. What has stayed in my mind however is how funny he is and also his excellent tips on memory. I would recommend it to anyone.

Leafing through this in the book shop my smug, 'I still know that!' expression was rapidly replaced with an, 'I never knew that!' look of horror!... So I bought it immediately, and having just finished this delightfully ingenious tome I am now happy to say that although I may not have 'Known That', I do now!

A great book, birthday and Christmas presents for this year are taken care of!

After reading that 'Wild Swim' was the book of the week in the Mail on Sunday I bought it.
It has stunning photography and carries fascinating desiptions of each location.
Kate Rew's appreciation of the nature around her on the trips, especially to the rivers and sea, is profound. I felt so envigorated and inspired that I could not wait to follow up one of the swims locally.
With over 300 places to visit there is something for everyone, the locations are varied and unusual. Open any page and you will be enthralled, whether you are a swimmer or not.

It's a good book, easy to read, informative and amusing. In fact, it's so informative that one is tempted to learn parts of it as ammunition for showing off how impressively clever you are to your friends; dismissing common knowledge as fiction is a satisfying thing to do. That is, until you come across something that the book claims to be true which you know in fact to be false (or more likely, not the entire truth). And by "know" I mean parts that cross over with my degree and which I have studied actual research journals on. Once I realised that the book takes liberties for the sake of sounding a bit impressive and sensational, I lost faith in pretty much everything else it claimed to be true. I'm sure alot of it is genuine, but how do you ... Read More:

Yup, this is to D&D3.5 what Vista is to XP. In short 3.5 only needed a little tweeking here and there to make it perfect. So what do Wizards of the Coast do? They completely re-make the game and balls it right up.
It looks very pretty. :P (just like Vista)And at first glance looks to be well laid out and easy to use, but this is a lie. When you start looking in depth you find numerous rules and annotations that are badly explained (if at all). Then theres the classes and races that have been replaced. WHY? There are some good ideas in here but I personaly am feeding this book to the recycle bin and going back to 3.5 It still works.

The previous reviews say it all. My first encounter with Robert Millar was a radio report on Radio Clyde the day after he won his first tour stage and as a 14 year old living in the West of Scotland I had the overwhelming urge to find out more about the guy. Now many years later thanks to this fantastic book I finally know as much as there is to know about Bob as is available in the public domain. Utterly compelling. If you saw a middle aged guy almost crying next to a swimming pool on a small Greek Island in June 2008, that was probably me finishing this book.
Brilliant.

The story of Chris Hoy - and Craig McClean and other trackies - is told in Richard Moore's new book. It's an inspiring read, especially when you discover about the pathetic state British Cycling was in in the mid-90s.

This book will whet your appetite for the Beijing Olympics, and give you confidence that Team GB are in wonderful hands.

The art inside this official book is like any other MGS form of art, which is stunning. If you have not had the chance to play all of the MGS games. Then this book has a handy selection of pages talking about the most imporant people in the MGS world. Best to play the game without using the book to start with, then use it once you hvae had your first play-though. As its the type of game you can play and play. All in all, its backed full of usful information, and detialed full colour maps to help you out. 5 out of 5.

The writing style of this book is odd, and at times it reads like a blog or if Lance is recording thoughts and handing them oer to the co-author. In fact the writing style and the short length of the book were the negative points for me. I somehow felt there might be more he could share but then again I guess this is his style, so if you are looking for a great piece of writing you've come to the wrong place. Its also not really an explanation of the cancer experience (I guess thats in the first volume). What it is a description of a man's life, what bothers him, what choices he has made and is making with cancer, his relationship to the disease and the sufferers he actively makes a point of meeting, how he manages to train every day of the year and have a family ...
