I'm somewhat confused about the plot of this one. It seems to me that Faith was more than redeemed during S7 of the show and more than made up for her previous evil and mistakes. Seems rather churlish to be talking about wiping the slate clean after that!

Having read the entire series, I will admit that some (namely last 3) have been full of sex and more sex, with not much plot line
However when I saw this one I picked it up eagerly, and read it in one sitting.
LKH is back to much better form with this one. The plot moves on with Marmee Noir, and we see insights into Anita's and other's characters. It is good to see Anita continuing to grow up as the series progresses, and whilst somethings are explained, new twists continue to appear.
If you have lost heart over the last couple of books, regain much of it with this one.

I thouroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend that you watch the film before reading the book so you can enjoy both as I did. As mentioned there a plenty of differences between film and book but in my opinion the ending in the book is far better, more haunting. My horror reading normally revolves around Richard Laymon and Graham Masterton this was a refreshing detour of style. Buy, read, enjoy.

I must admit that I was a bit shell-shocked for the first third of the book. The author dumps you right into the thick of a very complex world and you have to go with it. So much so that I spent a lot of time thinking that the back story should have been made into a separate book. However, by the end of it I really missed the style and pace and couldn't wait to start the next two sequels.

Don't expect full resolution in this book. It's more like a Janet Evanovitch 'Stephanie Plum' book in it's treatment of the heroine and the main male characters. I've read the sequels now and I still couldn't tell you who Cassie is going to end up with (although she has had some great encounters with some of them!). The suspense of that alone means ... After four thrilling novels featuring Grubbs Grady and his adventures with his crazy but caring uncle, his half-brother, Bill-E, and all the demons and monsters he's had to face (especially the one who took his parents away from him), Grubbs is back.

And this time he discovers that the only monster he has to face is himself.

Grubbs begins to have nightmares, ones with him covered in blood and being attacked by his late sister. But whenever he wakes up, he shrugs them aside, not thinking twice about them, most likely because he just doesn't want to know what they mean.

Aside from his sudden attraction to the moon and the need to howl, Grubbs has other problems on his mind. Like the differences between his new best friend, ... Read More:

The Demonata series is fantastic, truly gripping and every novel is fascinating from start to end. Demon Apocalypse, the 6th book in the series is no exception - while i think i still prefer the previous one, Blood Beat, Demon Apocalypse is epic in it's scale and was immensely enjoyable. In essence it is a coming together of the three main characters - Grubbs, Kernel and Bec all meeting for the first time.

This is also one of the darkest of the series so far. Following staright on from where Blood Beast left off, we rejoin Grubbs in the plane, confronting Lord Loss. As things progress we meet Beranabus, a fascinating, immensely powerful character. His duty above all is to protect the human race, always making decisions ... Read More:

Having been enthralled by the book previous to this, Touch the Dark, I dove straight into this one when I finished it. And I'm very glad I did. It was definitely better to read the two books back-to-back as the plot is complicated in places. I think Claimed by Shadow will be much easier to follow when the first book is still fresh in your mind.

Anyway, onto the action. We left Cassie Palmer as heir to the role of Pythia - an immensely powerful magical being whose job it is to travel back and forth in time to solve problems and eradicate any rogues that are trying to alter history. The only problem is, Cassie doesn't want the job. If she becomes Pythia, she will have every type of magical creature after her (even more than usual) to either eradicate or use her power for ... Rogue is the follow up to Stray and picks things up a few months after the events in the previous book. Faythe and Marc are together as enforcers and as a couple, and life is going on as normal in the pack. When a number of toms are found murdered in Pride territory, their necks broken, these deaths are found to be linked to the disappearance of a number of strippers. Faythe and the rest of the werecats are plunged into a race to find the killers.

This book is well plotted and the comparisons to Kelley Armstrong's Bitten and Stolen are far less evident. The action moves at a fast pace and many of the characters are interesting and well drawn. The character sketches of the minor characters are great and I love the character of Marc but I'm continually left wondering why he loves ... Read More:

Hmmm, lots of other reviewers compared this one to Kelley Armstrongs 'Bitten'- have to disagree with that one. Subject matter is similar but Stray isn't as good as Kelleys offerings. I would compare more to the much maligned Anita Blake though without the sex and Charlaine Harris without the subplots- that makes it sound like a poor imitation I suppose, but I didn't actually read it that way. Faythe is not terribly likable but she comes across as real. For those that don't know she is a Werecat, born into a pride. For biological reasons more male cats are born than female so there is a great deal of protection and competition surrounding the women of the species. I thought that the structure of the pride and the detail offered about the dynamics of the group was good and in places really quite ... Read More:
